I just wish he could dribble. Shooting 3's would be nice too. Actually I'd prefer the shot, but at least for now he could just stop trying to do too much with the dribble.

I can't imagine Garnett/Bosh/Giannis being so bad at dribbling.

If not for a short stretch where he couldn't make his free throws, this is a nice showing for Mobley in a "small ball" rotation. Mobley has been playing well as a forward with either Lopez or Allen on the floor, but struggles as the center manning the middle. Today, we watched Mobley play big against Bagley, Duren, and Bey. I still don't want Mobley at center against a playoff team yet, but he showed growth tonight.

All jokes aside- if he doesn't become top 3 of his draft class would you be disappointed? I would. Not devastated obviously- but I mean-our chance at a ring lies on his shoulders. DG & Spida, while not completely finished products, seem to be pretty close to their peaks. Mobley is the wild card. It is for this reason I am the most emotionally invested in his progress and why I loiter around on this thread.

Why such an arbitrary measuring stick? Top 3 in a draft class means totally different things depending on the draft.

Depending on how you rank them, either Bosh or Carmelo weren’t top 3 players in their draft class.

Lou Williams is a top 3 player from his class. Kyrie’s not a top 3 player in his class.

Mobley, Barnes, and Franz look to be the clear top 3 to me long term as they have played better and have more two-way potential, but if you include Cade and Green I could see all of them becoming multi-time All-Stars and eventually making All-NBA teams.

Not to derail the thread… but what three players are better than Kyrie? Kawhi and Klay for sure, but I’m hard-pressed to think that Butler has had a better career.

Anyways, yeah, ranking draft class outcomes is difficult and not the barometer. Kawhi as the #1 pick would’ve busted. Different players are better in different situations. So I agree with your overall point.

I mean Kyrie has played with LBJ, Love, Tatum, Brown, Harden, Durant, and now Simmons.

Butler played with post-injury D. Rose, one season on the Embiid/Simmons Sixers, and then Bam?

I don't know, but if Kyrie's has the Better career, it's only because he's played with better players including prime LBJ.

He had a really nice drive to the basket and kick to the corner to Wade for a missed three at 1:02. I think it’s very shortsighted to say he shouldn’t be trying to handle the ball much. He’s still very young and he’s not going to develop if he’s not given opportunities to try things that aren’t in his bag yet.

In the future when he’s puts on some more weight and develops his skills more it’s not out of the realm of possibility that’s he’s finishing at the rim on these drives from the perimeter or like he did here kicking it out for three.

He doesn’t have “fire” or he’s too “quiet” are silly complaints. There is a long list of guys that were loud and had fire in their personality and sucked.
