A lot of wishful thinking in here
Again, when Mobley stops the excessive thinking and dribbling just gets more reactive and fluid, looks like a pretty consistent all star talent. However, whether he becomes top 3 player in the league is where the Cavs agree with you. They aren't sold he can do it. Its why moving him is not impossible.

<snip>

I think Dan's point about athleticism is well taken. In 96, there were very few guys with Garnett's athleticism at that size. Was there even one?

Mobley is unique, but we just saw JJJ and he has a lot of what Mobely has going for him, but is older and stronger.
Thinking about that time, I come up with Hakeem and Karl Malone, both toward the end of their careers. I suppose you could add Shaq, but none of those three had Mobley/Garnett's build.

Slimmer Athletic centers/forwards of the 90s? I think of Mourning and Ewing as well. They were both in about the 250-pound range. like Hakeem. Not quite the same as Mobley and Garnett.

If he plays like he did in the 4th quarter of the Grizzly game for at least 2 and a half quarters a game on a nightly basis, then he’s a superstar. He just floats to often in and out of games way to often for my liking. A lot of that is coaching and having low iq players on the floor but some of it is him playing timid

Yup. I give them 10% chance, but Mobley is not viewed untouchable by the organization. Some teams have floated names if enhanced could make them act. Very low chance.

You seem to like lying. Then doubling down on said lies.

Mobley is one of three players averaging 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocked shots while shooting better than 50.0% from the field. 76ers C Joel Embiid and Lakers C Anthony Davis are the others.

Love how you can choose these cutoffs to form whatever group you like. Myles Turner would be far above all these thresholds…except he’s averaging 7.7 rebounds but not 8! Bam Adebayo has .9 blocks, just short of 1, even though he’s killing it on all the other metrics. Etc etc

This info was from an AP story by Tom Withers.

Your barb at me is unwarranted.

I meant a general “you”. Take it as referring to Tom Withers LOL

Unless the Bucks call and offer Giannis, I think Mobley is as untouchable as it gets.

I wanted us to draft Scottie Barnes. We'd be dominant with him on this squad right now.

Mobley last night......

  1. Elbow jumper off the dribble
  2. Transition catch, dribble, strong finish
  3. Elbow catch, hard dribble, running jump hook
  4. Back down dribble from the wing, spin, finish vs. helpside
  5. Dribble attack from the 3PT line, straight drive, fakes a spin, finishes over contest

Tough night for the "he just catches lobs" faction. :chuckle:

Garland and caris turnovers killed us but Mobley didn’t get involved much in the 2nd half this team is very weird man very weird
