It’s going to be a disservice to Mobley and the conversation around him if after this game, you call him a unicorn or expect that he’s ready to deliver a game like tonight every game in the playoffs.

Just as it would be a disservice to him and conversation around him if the next loss or next game were he’s passive on offense we instantly go to “he’s a disappointment”, “not sure he can ever be a 3rd option on a true contender”, we should move him” and such takes.

This kids all around game is still baking in the oven and the reality is we’re not going to know his true ceiling or reality for another 120-200 games

I think he’s helped because Boston doesn’t really have a counter. Not sure he’s ready to take on more physical / athletic centers. Also consistency will take more experience.

But he’s still learning and needs patience. Team will give that to him.

Evan should have big numbers every game this series as long as KP and Allen are out. Boston has no defense inside and, without Allen, Mobley has free range in the paint. If he doesn’t get 20 & 10 in this scenario, it’s a disappointment
 
When people say Evan is not good offensively what they mean is he's not got a go to move. He can't anchor an offense but he can feature because he's a great passer. He should be developed in a draymond 2.0 mold where he frees up the guards. His next swing skill is not a 3 point shot. It's screening

he definitely needs to get better at screening.

the Celtics defense certainly didn't know what to do when he was the one bringing the ball up the court instead of one of the guards. Game started to shift then.

I was SHOCKED that there were 2 opportunities for Evan to shoot 3s in this offense. Usually it's 0 when he's playing center in the JBB system.

Also encouraged to see him playing decisive on that side of the ball. Catch the ball with no one in your face in the free throw area? Shoot it. Catch it at the basket? Go up.
 
When I say Mobley isn’t good offensively I mean he’s not going up strong out with confidence. Allen isn’t her garland has been bad all season, there’s no one else to go to. You have to shoot 40 times if that’s what it takes to help us. Go down swinging. Miss all 40 I don’t care. You can’t be passing shots to go to okoro. You’re the guy we need be that guy now, it’s time
 
It's hard not to get excited when Mobley was legit the best player on the floor for a half, with no close second (sorry Tatum). He's already the best defensive player out there, and when he's a hub, we are so much more efficient.
