I think Mobley could be very good offensively and while he certainly isn't consistent on that end of the floor, he has very good court awareness, has flashed a nice shooting stroke, and has the footwork to become a force down low. I just don't think JBB is the guy to get the most offensively out of him but I doubt he would look this comfortable guarding 1-5 with an offensive-minded coach at the helm.

Everyone claiming he is not putting it together fast enough needs to patiently put aside the "KG with TD finesse" expectations and just let him find his game. The dude is 22 and has plenty of time to develop a signature go-to move down low. IMO, he has all the tools to be a very efficient scorer on the block.

Evan had a great game. But his productio is often unsteady, after great game like yesterday sometimes he has less good ones, but lets hope for better this time.

I rewatched his play yesterdyay and boy what kind of assists were these. REAL ones, those passes realy put players in postion to score easy baskets. Like years ago where only such assists were called in European basketball as assists.

Everything he did in last night's game seems sustainable: he shot the ball when the space was there, repeatedly put himself in position to finish dump-offs around the basket, and attacked Kornet/Horford like mismatches.

Man I really hope last night was a seminal moment for him. Be decisive, make layups and short jumpers. He can make this an interesting series.
I hope it continues.

The day he develops a more consistent jump shot, is the day his offensive game takes off. He has a nice shooting touch, I just don't think he's always extremely confident in shooting the ball.

And I do wonder, is this a coaching thing too? I'm not automatically suggesting it is, or my way of blaming JBB and his staff.

But I would be encouraging him to take more shots, even if they don't always drop. He seemingly though has the green light to take 3s in the post-season. So maybe he does.

I actually like it, even if the results you get aren't always great. Not saying he should be taking 10 a game. lol.

He's got to start feeling confident in taking shots. Everything else in his offensive game would then open up.

Imagine if a player is forced to close out on him, then his athleticism, and ability to get to the basket enhances his game. Because Mobley is long, doesn't handle the ball bad for his size, and has some explosion in him too.

He's starting to shoot the ball with a little more assertiveness. Although he still doesn't yet have a mid range game he's confident in.

He has the shooting touch too, and right mechanics. He just needs the confidence in being more of a volume shooter.

He looked good. I'm always critical of him but he brought it against the juggernaut boston. The team proclaimed to win it all by most. We weren't supposed to win a game.
Hope it gives Mobley the confidence he needs realizing these fkrs are human too and put their pants on one leg at a time just like he does.
Pretty sure he jumps into his pants.

He’s benefiting A LOT from Porzingis being out. To his credit, he is taking full advantage.

At 22, I simply don’t want to recount what I was doing so no judgement on his inconsistency. Although I am only 6’4, in spite of lifting and running and playing low level college sports, I also never hit my coordination peak until more like 25-28. Yoga/balance/flexibility type things took years of development.

When operating at the highest level and being almost a foot taller, I imagine even with world class training it just takes time. It is clear that when he is made the focal point he can execute and I hope we find a backup PG who can better allow him to feature for part of the game next year. With one more summer of lifting + coaching and a bit more reliability, he’s certainly a player you resign whatever it costs given his age.

Cavs have to make it a point to get him going. Depending on how DG is doing Mobley should be our second or third option.

I think his problem is strength, especially in the playoffs because it is ridiculous the way the refs are allowing contact. Notice how on almost every drive to the basket Don gets bumped or hit and he can drive through and make the shot. Mobley can't do that and they don't call the foul, at least in the playoffs.

Mobley can have a "coming of age" party this series if he can consistently give us the offensive production from game 2. I'm here for it. Just do it big guy.

The 3 second violation and fumbling around is bad but I am impressed with his finishing even with a bad ankle. He was never known to be a bouncy and athletic guy but the rim attacks and dunks last night were amazing. He looked like Amare out there.
