Unbelievable how smooth Mobley’s progression has been. He went from having solitary momentum changing plays, to momentum changing sequences, to now dominating full quarters. He had about 5-6 plays tonight I had to watch several times. The wrong foot lefty lay on the break?! The step through scoop from 10ft out?! I have no idea where this dude ends up tbh, but I know I’m thankful for him and the team for putting him in a position to grow.

The one handed lob over his head to Allen for an alley oop off the dribble was completely ridiculous. I've watched enough games that I can usually see the right play to make with assistance from the broad camera angle, but I didn't think that pass was possible before he did it.
He was definitely feeling himself and just trying shit out. Sometimes it ended up in a bad possession, but I don't care; he needs to keep experimenting as much as he wants.
He really is showing the skillset of today’s prototype big man (outside shooting, passing, top of the key hub) with enough throwback game mixed in (mid-range fades, pumps to lay in, oops, running the break, stifling defense) to make him project to a really unique animal.
His interest in handling the ball all the way down the court and even driving out of ISO sets (!!) went from frustrating to funny to intriguing.
We’re watching our baby giraffe evolve into some kind of Frankenstein’s monster beast…and I like it.
It’s getting hard to foresee what he will be 1-3-5 years down the line because he really does have unlimited upside. As great as his physical prowess is, the guy clearly has a phenomenal mind. His ability to process and apply on the fly, as has been pointed out, is really impressive. I’m sure it’s also evidence of work other guys don’t put in during the season, and that Evan wouldn’t post about on IG.
