Ex Indians update

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If everything is true, then she was just using him... Probably trying to get money or something eventually... Hate to say it, but it's highly likely at this current moment..
I agree, if everything Bauers attorney said is true..

The defense is that his client is not a criminal, just really stoopid....with a dozen O's.

A high profile athlete, who promotes himself endlessly, is approached by a woman, who volunteers to have sex with him, if he agrees to choke her and slap her while he is doing it.

This is the equivalent of seeing the headlight and hearing the roar at the other end of a railroad tunnel, and running down the tracks from the other end at full speed.

Bauer is not a stupid man... he may not always be a likable man, but he's not a stupid man. And he's the type of person who would absolutely save everything. You obviously have to let the process play out, but as sportscoach said, I think it was probably a money grab. But as a side note... I always thought him and his agent had something, but. I was definitely wrong there lol

Could be a worse choice if he did... He may have been better off choosing her at this point...

Pro athletes gotta stop letting their hormones win out...

It sounds like you're intimating you're no longer allowed to enjoy certain sexual kinks if you make over a certain dollar amount.

If the plaintiff is telling the truth, then that sucks--domestic assault sucks.

If Bauer is telling the truth, then the woman going after him like this sucks--but I have no problem with them enjoying sex between two consenting adults.

Just because "Hey, this woman could lie about things" is a realistic possibility doesn't mean it's stupid behavior or behavior you shouldn't engage in--just need to make sure you have the receipts, and it sounds like Trevor might.

Yep. There is a price to pay for being a wealthy, high profile athlete. Bauer is certainly allowed to have consentual sex, but he should have recognized that anything out of the ordinary..esp something that may leave visual evidence... comes with a price tag.

And it is stupid for one to be surprised when the piper comes calling. And the piper will get its price, one way or the other.

It matters legally if he has 'proof' of innocence. But as that proof becomes public in all its ribald details, there will be an even bigger price to pay.

Lets say, and I am assuming, that Bauer is entirely legally innocent, because he provides enough proof that the incident was consentual. He has then admitted that he likes to hit women.

How does that play when he goes out to sell his services on the open market? Do you think there just might be some women advocacy groups that will notice and put their two cents worth in?

And, do you think that Bauers will be invited onto Fox Sports or ESPN to do any more commentary on the Commissioner and sticky substances?

A handful of Native American activists managed to force two long established professional sports franchises to drop their names and logos, along with dozens of colleges. There are a LOT more women's rights activists than there are Native Americans, and they control a lot more power.

There are also a lot of Americans, male and female, who feel strongly that hitting a woman under any circumstances is just plain wrong.

Unless the accuser gets paid quietly to just go away, so that Bauer doesn't have to show his hand, this won't go away.

Uh, I'm not gonna touch this one--but you're really, really far off base on this.

Have you ever tangled with a women's rights group?

I have. I've worked with them and against them.

Good luck.

Have you ever been a public figure?

I have, in a small town kind of way.

Believe me, everything comes up...everything.

Sounds like this one's personal to you.

I'd recommend taking a step back (maybe sleep on it) and re-reading what you wrote.

I feel like there are some wires crossed in that post.

Nothing personal.

Notice that I quickly mentioned that I assumed that Bauer is innocent of any legal wrong doing. More than that, I expect that the story given by his lawyer is closer to the truth than any assumptions being made against Bauer.

But the story being presented on Bauers behalf is pretty damning by itself. Add that to the fact that he has publicly harassed a woman on social media, and that he has been the self elected accuser in the sticky stuff situation..and he has made himself a really, really big target. And made himself a lot of enemies.

By now at the highest levels of the MLB and Dodgers offices there have been meetings that have involved a lot of people who never come near a baseball diamond, but who make the decisions...Dodgers execs, PR people, and attorneys. The question being asked was what do do now and how do we handle it...and was preceded by a general WTF. It's called damage control, and you dont need damage control, unless you have a problem.

And no wires crossed. You can't just shrug at something like this.

No matter how this situation turns out, the next time Bauer enters free agency, one of the questions that every team interested will be discussing is whether they want the headaches that come with him...and those kind of questions are considered when it comes to discussing money.

Yasiel Puig is a pretty good ball player and would be a more productive player than a lot of outfielders on MLB rosters. But he is hammering the baseball in Veracruz, Mexico tonight, because not one team in MLB thinks his production is worth the headaches.

Consensual or not his name is now linked to “assault” for good. Consensual or not
The name “accused” will always be out there
Plus watching him pitch people will know he will hit a woman if asked. ugh. Just stuff I do not want to know about but now it’s out there and that part he is not denying
Bauer is very smart. But he should have seen this coming from the first request. Doubt she cared if there was text proof of her asking for it. My bet is she thought he would just pay hush $

caught some of the Reds Padres game last night - didnt realize drew pomeranz was still around - pitching in relief for the pads - 10 years ago we traded 3 of our top pitching prospects + matt? mcbride for ubaldo jiminez - 3 of those four were soon forgotten - ubaldo had an inconsistent 3 years w/us - and then signed a pretty substantial deal w/baltimore - pomeranz has had a representative career including getting a ring with boston

Gut reaction was that this is a gold digger looking for a payout. Whether or not I like TB and his personality and behavior, this strikes of a setup of sorts. With that said, I think that CATS nails it pretty closely. These sports leagues are so risk adverse in specific areas these days that I have no doubt that there are very high level discussions going on right now on how to manage this discussion.

Trevor is in some level of jeopardy right now, regardless of his real guilt.

We will wait and see what comes of it. But to echo what others have said, Bauer seems like the guy that would hold onto text messages - I doubt he and his agent would just say that unless they really have something. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Bauer has texts or screenshots of every sexual encounter just in case occasions like this come up.
