If you wanted to turn this argument of yours into something productive, how about comparing K% of the prospect you're looking at to that of his peers?
As strikeouts have gone up across baseball, wouldn't it make sense for the strikeout rates of prospects to be up as well? So, comparing someone to numbers of the past seems less-than-ideal. I'm sure there was some stat out there that baseball players above a certain height couldn't be effective... because as time has gone on, our average height has increased. Ignoring the conditions that a statistic exists within is usually not productive.
I've brought up how things like Z-Contact% and O-Contact% would be better than K%. They're much stronger indicators of a hitter's ability to connect with the baseball when they swing. I've brought up how K% have increased in modern baseball. Yet you refuse to look into the ways you could make your argument better.
Don't forget who @CATS44 grew up watching! Ty Cobb was running the bases! He grew up in an era that contact was the most important thing...
