Cross posting this on Jefferson's offensive stats from the Delly thread. The TL/DR summary is that Jefferson's shooting stats were actually fantastic last year. If they weren't a fluke and he can repeat them he might become our best offensive player off the bench
Since it's the Jefferson thread I'll replace the comparison to Delly with one to Mo Williams, who you would think of as our best offensive bench player
Wide Open (closest opponent 6+ feet) -- Williams 54.3 eFG%, Jefferson 77.5 eFG%
Open (closest opponent 4-6 feet) -- Williams 50.3 eFG%, Jefferson 61.5 eFG%
Tight (closest opponent 2-4 feet) -- Williams 45.3 eFG%, Jefferson 46.2 eFG%
Very tight (closest opponent 0-2 feet) -- Williams 29.1, Jefferson 30.2 eFG% -- no one shoots well guarded like this
A lot of these differences come because Mo just doesn't seem to be a very good 3 point shooter compared to Jefferson, which is immediately obvious from their summary stat lines. Jefferson is a MUCH better catch and shoot player than Mo. But Mo can break down the defense dribbling in a way that Jefferson can't (Jefferson doesn't shoot off the dribble that much or that well). Mo and Jefferson on the floor together could be deadly offensively, if Mo learns how to find him and Jefferson can move some off the ball.
