I am a sophomore in high school and I am looking for a first job since I am starting to go out and spend money...

What are some good jobs, or what would you recommend?

NOT FAST FOOD!

Maybe a clothing store.
Or Target/Walmart.

You can go to a sams club/costco and be a cart runner or a landscaper, they both make alright.

Valet cars at the Ritz Carlton-- I tell everyone this because I was making crazy money as a 16/17/18 year old doing this...Sometimes $400-$500 a night on tips alone..

And I would not work at a place like Abercrombie.. When I was helping out there, they would sometimes make me stand outside the stupid place wearing boxer/brief shorts... The only good part about it was I got to do it with this one girl, and she was pretty hot...

So if you don't want to stand outside a store in your underwear, don't work there...I remembered weekends and all my friends would be in the mall... It sucked...

Cali has a good idea as well.. Wholesale outlets are probably solid for work.. Or maybe a place like Starbucks or other coffee houses..

i worked at a movie theatre for a year and a half, it was on of the more busy ones on the east coast. i met some cool people there and was making decent money. i was doing that from junior year until the fall after i graduated High School.

positves of the job: unlimited hot chicks coming through, numerous wizards players came through, unlimited movies, cool people to work with.

negatives: asshole managers, long working nights, not many free weekends, got in to trouble with some of the kids who lived in DC.

good experience and wouldnt have changed it for the world.

Yeah fast food places are the pits. I worked at staples during HS and it was an alright job, not to hard or demanding. I also worked at the Roadhouse and that place was hectic. I would try to aim for a dept. store where the hours aren't going to be to much and you would be able to get out at a decent time on the weekends. At Staples i was out by 9:30 at the latest every night i had to close.

Grocery store...I made decent money, like 7.50 an hr working there. More than you'll get at a dept store.

One thing you want to keep in mind is a job that you will busy all the time. When there is nothing to do time moves like shit through a goose.

Sell weed. Your the boss. You can set your own hours. Work from home if you want. Heck, you never even have to get out of your PJ's.

Caddy at a Country Club. Make $75-100 a round carrying doubles, go out twice and you're home by 7 with $150-200 tax free. If you only want to go out once you can be home by 2pm with $100 in your pocket....you make the hours and take days off when you want. Work the weekends until school is out...then go 6 days a week and make some serious bank for a kid in highschool.
Silver lining - Meet the more powerful people in your city and make contacts. Kiss some serious ass, establish relationships, get real job offers & referrals...and if you're lucky get asked to do some yard work and bag some hot trophy wives.

....or just sell weed.LOL

Some retail store like Sears, or some other commissioned sales job like a cell phone place. At first, you may start out as generic slightly above min wage, but if you can get into a job that pays base + you will be making a lot more than your friends.

maximus's post has been made into a full length motion picture called...

Caddyshack!!
