First Job Advice

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Work at like Best Buy HH Greg in the back as a "stockboy"
Any job using a register sucks, because you're held accountable for any money that comes up short.

You DONT want to work at the mall either... like Pip said, all your friends are there, and you're stuck working....

I work in retail, and I make the schedule, and no one really gets weekends off.

GOOD LUCK on your hunt!

How do you get a job valet'ing cars? Or even being a caddy...I'd quit my job in a heartbeat for either of those jobs..

Let me know where you'd go to find those jobs..I have a country club 3 minutes up the road..

Just go to the resturants.hotels to be valet driver... BUT, you know you're driving record has to be clean and also, you have to know how to drive a stick. I know alot of people who did valet, and they got paid... But I think it helps to know someone who can get you in, same with being a caddy.. Just go in there wearing a polo shirt and be really preppy, you're a pretty boy, so that might help!

I don't mind being a pretty boy..

I own a collection of polos I'll be straight..I'll ask my uncle to teach me stick he has two stick cars so...If I crash the first I'm sure he'll let me use the backup

Currently while going to college I work at Dicks Sporting Goods in the team sports area.. yes I'm the dude selling soccer moms the 3 in one game table for their kids.

I also vallet every friday, saturday nigths and sunday during the day at Walden Country Club where I make good money.

My first job was at Tops grochery marketl as a bag boy. Job was easy as hell and made 7.50 while all my friends were getting like 6 an hour.

At 16, you aren't going to find anything you would enjoy. And probably wouldn't get a decent paying job unless you know someone. So pretty much, theres a good chance that you will either push carts or drop fries.

Getting a job valeting at the Ritz just isn't going to happen...there are 40 year old men that do that as full time jobs and aren't giving it up any time soon. Similar situation with valeting at most country clubs...but you'd have a better chance there.
As far as caddying goes, cdt, if the club 3 minutes up the road uses caddies, then just tell them you want to do it and you're hired. You may have to carry a single bag 10 times before you carry doubles, but that can be done in a week. Caddying is the closest you will come to finding a job you really enjoy. You are outside enjoying the weather, getting some excercise, and it's easy. You are also making $15-20 an hour tax free, beats the hell out of working at Abercrombie, Bestbuy, or McDonalds.
...and you make your own schedule!

playa - yea i do that, but thats only over the summer and avon oaks country club is closing...I like Pip's idea that sounds cool...

playa, go to Lakewood or Westwood. Avon should have closed 10 years ago, hate to say it but that's just a miserable club and a pathetic track. LCC & WCC are quality clubs and always need caddies.

Yeah caddying isn't a bad idea for these younger guys. I had a bunch of buddies who caddied at Kirtland Country Club and loved it, nice pay, cool people and you can booze.
