@RonG hows the sports betting going? A year later and I’m still barely winning anything. Help!

Bet the Boosts or Super Boosts that books put out.

Look into EV.

Stop creating multi leg parlays.

Capitalize on earning free bets as much as possible.

Be Patient.

Realize that winning small is always better than losing.

But really, you totally have to hammer Bet365, FanDuel, and DraftKings boosts. I havent had a losing month since betting was legalized. I typically place 2-3 bets per day, but will absolutely abstain if there is nothing of value.

The books make their money off of people going for crazy plus odds. There will always been someone who hits the lotto, but if you live with small wins and incremental gains, you can totally beat the books and make a little side hustle out of it.

I'm not getting rich, but I win enough to be able to take my family out to dinner or have some fun with buddies and not worry about it coming out of the monthly budget.

I’ve been trying to bet small without crazy parlays and I still manage to lose. Appreciate the advice! Seems like for FanDuel, I’ve just been getting boosts for live bets and such.

I actually was referring to the premade boosts that the apps release. For example, today DK has a "Big Men Super Boost" that is Sabonis and Jokic to each get 40+ pts+rebs+asts, boosted to +140. Or FD has one for LBJ, AD, and Kawhi to each score 20+ that is boosted to +200. Bet365 usually releases theirs around 3:00 or later.

Take a look at those ones and hopefully avoid the landmines. :chuckle: The DK one for example, doesnt provide a ton of value today.

The boost tokens they give out CAN be good, but just remember to not get greedy. Winning small is better than losing.

Also, with March Madness ramping up soon, keep an eye out for any additional promos. Deposit matches are the best, but a lot of times books will offer some additional way to earn free bets, especially during parts of the year where they know a lot of people will be gambling and they will be raking in the money.

Oh, I always heard that those should be avoided at all cost. I guess if they make sense then it would be ok to bet on.

There can absolutely be landmines. Last night was a good example. DK had a +200 boost that was Curry, Luka, and Tatum to combine for 12+ threes. They ended with 11 after Tatum and Curry shot a combined 5 for 23.

But there was also the night before that was Bam and Sabonis to combine for 40+ points boosted to +200 that everyone in the betting community was screaming to max the $50 bet on, that hit. Or the FD one with the same two players to combine for 7+ rebounds in the 1st quarter, that hit.

Make no mistake about it, those boosted odds bets are nowhere close to guarantees. I believe the LeBron, AD, and Kawhi one tonight grades out to about a 40% chance of hitting. BUT, since its boosted to +200, it makes it more worth the risk, especially if you continue to keep taking them (rough math below).

If you make ten +200 odds, $10 bets and win at 40% each it equals $80 in wins, but $60 in losses. Net profit of $20 on $100 of betting. A 20% return is pretty dang solid. If you can beat the 40% success rate mark, bet less on or avoid the losers, more on the winners, etc... thats where you can really start to make a mark.

Edited for clarity: I'm not talking about the regular boosted bets that you can always find on these apps. Im referring to the ones that they usually offer every day or every other day that are given a little more juice than a standard boost and typically have max bet limits. Those are the ones to evaluate. The others that they say 1.2k people have already taken!!!! are not even worth looking at.

Thanks to you I won some money yesterday.

I actually thought of you when that bet hit and hoped you had taken it.

Unfortunately for me, the Cavs utter collapsed ruined my results for the day. I didn’t follow my own damn advice and got greedy by adding them in to not one, but two parlays.

Lost a couple other small ones but was up in the first time in a while.

I had Mitchell at 4 assists and 20 points in one of mine, and he couldn't get to either in 2 OTs.

The boosts hit really well last night again. Again, it wont make you rich, but profit is profit.

Another green day. I’ve been looking these up to see if they have a chance and go from there.

Yep. Yesterdays boosts were once again very good.

Bet365 already has a good one for LeBron and Jokic listed for tonight too.

Slow and steady will build a nice profit over time.
