As I said... No one should pity us. Haha.

I had to turn it off after he said Jason Campbell is elite. Did he ever rip into the receivers for dropping passes? Or Little for dropping the ball that turned into a pick?

I like how the throw he spotlighted was the one to Cameron haha. A pretty nice play.

Also, why the hell did he film it in sepia tone?

It's almost like there's a reason we are complaining

I'd say the last 3 minutes were golden.
Richardson has concerned me since last year, but I thought it was just me. And as for Weeden.... DONE!
I fully agree that Campbell should start against Baltimore.

Came into work: "Nicky, what happened to your team?" I can't even take up for anyone, because collectively it was atrocious. Felt like Shumur all over again.

I'd assume that the front office will not sit on this and will make the necessary adjustments for the next game.

Weeden shouldn't have to build confidence in his second year. So done with him!
Shitty way to start the week. Hopefully we'll get better news (Campbell) in a day or 2.

Damn this team!

Look... We ALLLLLL knew what the mood in here was going to be... Here's how I'm looking at it...

They're NOT going to win the Super Bowl
They're PROBABLY not going to win the division
They're PROBABLY not going to make the playoffs
They're PROBABLY not going to be over .500

However, what's the fucking point of giving up? I'll never understand it. I'm not saying they'll replicate the 10-6 season after getting drubbed by the Steelers, but who the hell knows? If anyone tells me they knew that team would win 10 games, well, then you're full of shit.

There was no Josh Gordon. CLEARLY Weedens #1 guy. CLEARLY helps take pressure off of Little. He will most likely help free up Cameron. Also, you have to think it'll help Benjamin by putting him where he belongs. Whether you want to admit it or not, despite the fact that, yes, he didn't play well, Weeden received NO help whatsoever. Cousins. Benjamin's key drop and useless fight for the ball. Littles DROPS with one an into an INT. No matter your opinion on Richardson, no running back can get going with 13 carries. We knew that just with Jamal Lewis alone. Guy is a bruiser along with a speedster. Has to wear offenses down. They did that with LT in SD, so I hope Norv does the same here. That game plan made little sense, but that's a different topic.

The defense looked pretty damn solid. They gave up one TD after a dropped INT. The last touchdown is what it is. 4th down failed inside their own territory. Penalties. They also get back Rubin and Mingo. One of them is vital. The other is considered possibly the best rookie in the NFL.

So look, you can give up and bitch and moan and post GIFs of fat chicks taking huge dumps, but I'm still going to watch with a little confidence like I do every year. Makes it more enjoyable. Then by week 13-14 you can just say fuck it and give up then. I'd suggest some of you downers do the same.

EDIT: I get that at 22 I'm not as old as some of you, but my dad is 53 and does the same thing.

This is why no one should pity us. We are bunch of fucking whiners that piss and moan at the drop of a hat. The funny thing is, this thread can't even sniff the Indians threads. Most of the haters are gone due to them being in the hunt, but great examples why we are the bitchiest fan base out there. Bunch of complainers.

Love the post and moreover, LOVE the optimism. Not enough of that in this town and there never will be.

The Miami Dolphins are a good football team. The Browns are the youngest team in the NFL. I'm stating the obvious. Weeden missing Gordon is the equivalent of Cutler missing Brandon Marshall or Dalton missing Green on a lesser scale.

Do we win yesterday with Rubin, Mingo, and Gordon? Probably not... But the game just got a heck of a lot more interesting. The O-Line got abused. Bolster up and we are in that game.

Contrary to the popular overreaction, the sky is not falling. We did not take a step back. We played a bad game. The coaching will need to continue to get better along with the players.

NEWS FLASH:

The entire division is winless. The Steelers' offense scored 7 points yesterday.

Forgive me for withholding judgment on this team just yet. Panic button doesn't come until we hit 0-4.

I was wondering that too. I think he just tried it out as to not show it in color. I don't know if it's supposed to showcase his agony, but that would be my guess. He's a bit dramatic, but it made me laugh.

Campbell isn't elite, but I think I rather see him than Weeden. Weeden is still playing like he did last year. I saw zero improvement.

I thought Ray Horton was going to be more aggressive. I don't understand a 3-4 blitzing scheme when you're going to play soft behind it. If you're willing to give up 7 yard outs all day long, why even blitz. At some point you need to trust your pass rush, and play bump and run coverage on the outside. If you don't think your pass rush is going to get there, then don't bring it.

They made Hartline look like Jerry Rice yesterday. It was as if we hired Jim Heacock to be our defensive coordinator. OSU fans will get that reference. Just so soft on the outside....so ridiculously soft. And it's the exact reason Ohio State fans wonder why we never get consistent pressure on opposing QB's. If you give QB's soft outside coverage in the face of pressure, they're going to dink and dunk it all day. Tannehill just converted another 3rd and 6 for 7 yards as I typed this.

The defense had 7 QB hits, 4 sacks, and 8 tackles for loss. Did you miss the entire game?

The blitzing picked up as the game went on. The periods of reluctance to blitz were not a result of the front 7's inability to get into the backfield. Rather, the unwillingness to blitz resulted from our secondary's incompetence. We knew that was our biggest weakness going in and it showed.

You can't keep sending blitz packages while Buster Skrine is getting torched in single coverage. It's a lose-lose.

You're going to get QB hits and tackles for loss in every game. 4 sacks is a nice statistic, but it isn't telling the whole story. The soft coverage, especially by Skrine who was afraid of giving up the big play, allowed Miami to put themselves in 2nd and short and convert 3rd and 6's and 7's all day long. While holding them to 23 points was solid, especially with some of the turnovers, I still can't get the easy and pitch and catches on 7 yard outs and hitches out of my head. I'd much rather they bring those blitzes with tight coverage behind it forcing the QB to make tight throws. Again, bringing blitzes with Buster Skrine 10 yards off his man isn't making things hard for Tannehill at all.

It's almost like there's a reason we are complaining

There's a reason to complain at times. The first game of the season saying "SAME OLD. KNEW THID WOULD HAPPEN." is just ridiculous. Everyone "knew" we'd lose. If people know they'll lose, then its a waste of their time to watch or they're just watching so they can complain.

I hope I didn't misinterpret your post.

Ahhh people are trying to rationalize things right on cue. Whatever makes you feel better I guess...

You get a free pass for being negative. Just based off Indians threads. Its more humorous as opposed to whining.

Also, you still owe RCF 1,000 for your bet. 1,000 of what? Well, that's up to you.

So I guess you'll take the irrational approach? Woe is me, right?

:shakehead
I dont think the majority of people are too upset after the loss. To be upset you had to of thought they would be better. I think we are numb to it by now.

I think my main thing, really, is if you're going to harp on the negative then you also have to bring up the positives. Its the only way to give a fair assessment. That's especially the case in game ONE.

I'm very aware of how bad they looked yesterday. But it doesn't mean I can't take away some of the good things as well.

Eh. I don't know. Fuck it. I'm going to go play golf.
