Again, they don't go by what the paper says. They go out there and play, just because the paper says we will get "slaughtered" doesn't mean shit. We have a decent shot at winning, at home against a Brooklyn team that hasn't played much together as a unit. Only helps our chances if Bynum comes back. I'm optimistic. I'm not saying I guarantee we win, I'm saying I think we have a shot.
three of the starters have 78 games together. 2 of the other starters have hundreds of games together. All five know what it like to deal with roster turnover and they are all viable veterans with a deep bench.
Id rather see the Cavs play the Heat,OKC, Knicks or Pacers for opening night. At least they have disadvantages to potentially exploit.
This defense meanwhile has shown itself inconsistent and the offense is still finding its way.
The Nets definately wont be looking past the Cavs.
If the Cavs pull this out and win it will be a big deal this is definately one they shouldnt have. All im saying is that if the Cavs look bad this game its not the end of the world.
