Windhorst's game notes:
December 08, 2009, 11:34AM
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Pre-game from the FedEx Forum:
Projected starting lineups:
Cavs: Mo Williams, Anthony Parker, LeBron James, J.J. Hickson, Shaquille O'Neal
Grizz: Mike Conley, O.J. Mayo, Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol
Officials
Mike Callahan, Brian Forte, J.T. Orr -- Um, this is an interesting crew. I haven't seen Orr work yet. Maybe he's good. We'll see, he's a rookie and officiating LeBron for the first time as far as I know. Last year Forte had some tough games against the Cavs. Callahan, well, he's the Duke.

*• I'll have a Jamario Moon update with his groin injury soon. A decision has been reached yet that he'll be available tonight. The Grizzlies' front line is healthy.
• The Grizzlies are a pretty good team. Look at that starting lineup, there is some significant talent there. They are 8-12 which may not seem very good but they had a tough start that was influenced by the Allen Iverson meltdown plus they've had two long road trips already. This team can really score the ball. The problem is they don't always pass very well. Nonetheless, this is not a team to take lightly.
• One thing the Grizzlies don't do is play defense. They give up 105 points a game -- the Cavs give up 93 so you can compare -- and 49 percent shooting. They is downright shoddy. I haven't seen them play much, but this has to be the thing that holds them back because they have enough talent to be a .500 or better. I mean look at the Kings or Wolves roster and then the Grizzlies, not in the same league.
• There is no reason Hickson can't have a good game on Randolph. His athleticism should give Randolph problems. If the Cavs decide to, they can probably get J.J. a lot of shots. In turn, Gasol is going to be one of the most challenging post players the Cavs have seen so far. He has excellent footwork and now that he's lost weight is a guy who can create problems because he has post moves. Shaq is going to have to work to stay out of foul trouble and he will be a test for Zydrunas Ilgauskas as well.
