Game # 41: Cavaliers @ Golden State: Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm really starting to wonder who Wally CAN match up with defensively.

A list of people that Wally CAN match up with defensively:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
RuPaul
LeBron's son Bryce
Bea Arthur
Mini-Me
Stephen Hawking
Any WNBA Player (OK, well, maybe not Candace Parker)

I wouldn't discount Bryce. He may only be a year or two old, but it's not like you've ever seen him play.

Mark my words, Wally is going to demand the assignment to shutdown Boozer tonight.

When Wally is on the court you just never know what is going to happen....

Watching Wally out there and being entertained with his hilarious game all the while knowing that this moment of the game could completely f*ck up the entire outcome is a thrilling ride.... We live in the edge when Wally is out there, folks...

*My friends I showed up with are all Warriors fans, so when LeBron would miss a shot, they would stare right at me and chant: "O-ver-at-ed." I would then lean over and whisper to each, individualy: "When I look back at this moment, I will laugh, and laugh, and laugh." I said it when the Cavs were down ten. I said it when Monta threw down a nasty dunk. I said it when Captain Jack nailed those two clutch mid-range shots for a one point lead.

And when LeBron deflated the rawdy, playoff-calibur crowd - well, what could I do but remind everyone that it was time to laugh, and laugh, and laugh. Great experience.

Isn't that a great feeling? Two seasons ago I took my friend from school, who is a Boston fan, to a Cavs game when they hosted the Celtics. For those of you who don't remember, the Cavs were down 19 points heading into the fourth quarter, only to pull it out and win by one. It was beautiful since I had to hear him talk trash for three straight quarters. Let's just say it was the most peaceful ride home I've ever had ;)

Oh, and I posted neat-o stats, sorry for the delay!

LeBron came through big time at the end and it's a good thing he did because his play in the 4th qtr up until that point was terrible. He forced bad shots, made poor decisions, and played selfishly. The 1st 3 qtrs were fine and he played very well.

Bench came up huge last night. Kinsey provided a needed spark and good matchup for the Warriors small ball lineup. Hickson also made some solid plays.

For the most part the role players have been stepping up in Z and Delonte's absence. They deserve a lot of credit.

That was a game...I think one of the turning points was JJ's missed slam..I kept thinking it would come back to haunt us..but there was some clutch play...JJ and Tnsley..and Wallace..not a lot of D..which I was afraid of..I was glad to see MB use just about everybody..
LEBRON what a fade that was..I heard McCloud say Lebron smiled the GS bench...he knew what was coming..

That was his first walk-off game winner of his career. He's had several game winning drives and shots that left about 1-5 seconds left on the clock.

Did anyone notice last night that he seemed to have a different swagger and demeanor then normal? When they showed him in the timeout before he shot his second free throw at the end of the game he just appeared so focused. I kinda of had a feeling that he was finally going to knock down the GW.

I was at the game for my bday around 12 rows from the court and was yelling at lebron and AC during the post game new conference.

My hands were shaking for a good 15 min after the game.

Lebron is massive in person, especially when he is driving down the lane and he is only a couple of feet from you.

From Fred McLeod's blog. Fitting tribute:

Wow is all I can say!!! It's on to Salt Lake City...

But before we pulled out of Oakland, a memorable moment...LeBron gave Warrior fans one more thrill...

As he walked to the bus which was parked just outside of the building, about 100 feet away, around 50 fans chanted, "MVP, MVP, MVP".

King James couldn't resist and walked over to them, to sign some autographs..the small group went nuts!

LeBron then boarded the bus, and as we pulled out, the star struck group had one more salute: In perfect timing, and in unison, these fans they threw a plume of baby powder into the night air...a King sized moment...
