Game 55 | Nuggets vs. Cavaliers | February 18, 2010 | 8:00 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Does anyone know the first game AJ will be joining the cavs.

Here is Windy on the subject:

It is uncertain whether Jamison will be in uniform for the Cavs' game Thursday against the Denver Nuggets. For the trade to go through, all six players must report and pass physicals or have their physicals waived by the receiving team. This could slow down the process of the trade becoming final.

I assume if he doesn't play tomorrow, he will for sure play against Charlotte on Friday.

I'd say it's very unlikely that Jamison is able to play tomorrow night. Friday at Charlotte is also a question mark I'd imagine. Luckily J.J. wasn't dealt so this isn't a case of "oh man, AV and Shaq pulling full time pf/c duty tonight." That might've been scary.

But what's a game after the deadline without Billy Thomas getting some burn? Just ain't the same as '08!

Sooo wierd looking at the roster and NOT seeing ol' Zydrunas Ilgauskas' name anywhere...

;(

One of my all-time favorite photographs..ever..

No matter what they say publicly, Z knew he would be "traded" and that he would be able to get bought out and signed here again. He probably will enjoy the time off and it should help him be rested for the playoffs. Z will retire here and have his jersey in the rafters.

Oh yeah, I know. But I'm just saying its weird not seeing his name.

Is anyone else hoping that Antawn's in the building & after the win, LeBron stands up on the scorer's table & points up to him, ala Damon Jones? :chuckles:

Anyway, here's your NumbersDon't preview introduction:

Game Preview – Thursday February 18, 2010 – Denver Nuggets @ Cleveland Cavaliers

While it is unlikely that the newest Cavalier, Antawn Jamison, will be in uniform against the Denver Nuggets tonight, he will certainly be in attendance to cheer on his new team. The Cavs? Oh, they’ll be just fine, riding a 13 game winning streak, which is the longest streak in the NBA this season and is tied for the longest streak in franchise history.

But expect a bumpier ride than usual as the Cavaliers prepare to battle the Nuggets, a team they lost to back in early January when Mo Williams and Zydrunas Ilgauskas each scored 11 points and Denver was without Carmelo Anthony. This time around Cleveland will be without Mo Williams, who is expected to return from injury soon, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas, reportedly hard at work trying to secure a buyout from Washington, while the Nuggets will have Carmelo Anthony in the starting lineup.

Regardless, Cleveland will look to capitalize against a Nuggets team coming off their biggest home loss of the season (-19 vs. San Antonio). With their third straight TNT Thursday night game, the Cavs will look to continue their Turner streak that has featured three straight prime time wins after starting the season 1-3 in games broadcast by TNT.

The bad news? Last season when the Cavaliers were on a 13 game winning streak they squared off against the Washington Wizards in a Thursday night TNT game. The result was an 8 point loss and the streak was history. After dealing with the Wizards last night, hopefully Jamison brings some good Karma against the Nuggets tonight.

Ultimately, expect a larger hand in the offense from Shaquille O’Neal, J.J. Hickson, and Anderson Varejao, as they look to pick up the slack in Z’s absence before Jamison plays in his first game as a Cavalier. In the team’s last game, a 115-106 victory over Orlando, the three big men combined for 46 points and 14 rebounds on 22-34 (64.7%) shooting.

I want to see me some Jamison.

Now.

By the way, I mentioned this in the preview, but..

Tonight's intro was courtesy of Cam, who was awesome enough to help me out with the preview

I would be happy just to see Jamison in the building, but i hope by some miracle he plays...

Ferry was on WTAM this am, very doubtful Jamison plays tonight

I just think of it as Z needing a month to rest. It honestly could be the best thing for him come playoff time. He has appeared a bit burnt out in recent years.

Yeah man, like they give them 48 hours to get to there new home (team), Im sure jamison is in cleveland already but you can't just throw him in the mix with the chemistry that we have right now, the nuggets aren't playing all that well of ball and with mello out. We need to capitalize big. Few weeks of practice with lbj and shaq, im sure he will be in the flow for sure. Im sure he will be playing the game after tonite, but would be awesome to see him play a few minutes tonite hah. It is gonna suck if shaq gets in foul trouble alot until we get Z back tho. AV hasn't really played much Center for us this year so, hopefully he's ready. I think we should get the win tonite as long as we limit billups and play good D on those outside J's and have some bigs downlow as always.

Nice preview lbjcavsx23. It's nit picky but his name is, "ANTAWN FREAKING JAMISON". Other than that, if we aren't seeing 'Tawn then I wouldn't mind getting a look at Powe. Any new info on him playing?

I'm predicting a big game from JJ tonight, showing his gratitude for remaining a cav :D
