GAME 68 | Cavaliers vs Heat | Wednesday Mar. 20 7:00 pm

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sad thing is, outside of Cleveland, no one will give any credit to the job Tristan, Ellington, and Livingston pulled off tonight. A waiver pickup who has no knees left, an afterthought in a cap saving move, and a reach at the 4th pick almost beat the best team in the league. I want Ellington and Livingston around here for much longer.

Byron actually seemed happy in his presser. Amazing. He is delusional. Damn.

Don't know if I've ever agreed with you before, but I'm as baffled as you are right now.

Oh and Byron just said in his presser that they got the shot they wanted at the end.

So now FSO interviews LeBron???? Please.

That's bullshit, watch the replay. Ellington goes into the paint to set the screen for Miles coming to the top of the key. Then Ellington sprints to the wing and comes around a screen WIDE THE FUCK OPEN as Miles forces up the shot with 2.5 seconds or so left.

That play was for Ellington, and it was there. But the problems started looooong before the last shot.

The truth is the truth. Thanks for speaking it. I don't expect anyone to "side" with me. I only say what I believe to be the truth. I am wrong sometimes.

Let's talk about the truth for a second. You said good luck to any future draft picks we select because Byron won't play them...

Who's our starting lineup including who's injured and who's not?

/Discussion

Truth is, you don't what the fuck you're talking about.

I just wonder what the hell our players were thinking on those defensive possessions, leaving Battier/Allen WIDE OPEN 9042920 straight times. They dont have a fucking clue on how to play defense.

Livingston and his knee can't play 40+ minutes a night and Quinn wasn't going to be thrown into this game after just signing this afternoon. Gibson completely sucks now and I don't want to see him again on the court but there is no other option now when Livingston needs rest.

Not defending Scott or saying he's the greatest coach in the league but we seem to forget just how bad and thin this roster is and how that's only been made worse with 3 of the top 4 players on the roster now out. It's actually amazing this was even a game at all. Calling a timeout or two isn't really going to make a ton of difference in games now. There's been praise for players like Walton, Livingston and Speights this year. If that doesn't tell you about the current level of talent that's on the team than I don't know what will.

In the end talent (and helpful officiating) will win out no matter how many timeouts are or are not called or which bench stiff gets minutes or not.

That's why he's the head coach. It's called using your time outs properly and not collecting and storing them for sea shells for a necklace.

The Cavs were absolutely crushing the Heat in the frontcourt. Surprise surprise, this is the Heat's weakness. So what happens after the 28 point lead? No inside game to speak of. No time outs called during that stretch. It was a mockery of a coaching performance. 20 seconds, down by 1, everyone gassed? No time out. Brilliant strategy.

I'll remember this game as the game a Kyrie Irving/Dion Waiters/Andy Vaerjao-less Cavs team battled their asses. But I'll also remember it as the game where Byron Scott got exposed for the world to see.

Did we not end the game with 0 time-outs?

Look, I'll get on board with the bashing for not calling more time-outs during the third, but quite frankly, when I see a guy forced to play Daniel Gibson at point, I'm just not going to blame him that much. Wayne Ellington...WAYNE ELLINGTON, played 41 fucking minutes tonight. That might be the most Wayne Ellington has played in his damn career.

Timeouts would have won us this game because... um... because our guys would have found it in themselves to channel their inner 23 game winning streak... because they were expected to win this game against 3 top 25 players in the game... Ruuudy...Ruuuuudy...Ruuuuuuuuudy...

Yeah fuck you Byron!

Does this seriously need an explanation? Time outs are called for a plethora of reasons: guys get gassed, opposing teams need to be heat checked, for example. Byron Scott isn't the sole reason the Cavs lost. Nobody is arguing that. But he is reason, a substantial one at that

Rich...You're right. Gilbert has fallen short (no pun intended). Things change.

Rest, council, magic pills, none of it changes the fact that when Daniel Gibson plays point, everything falls the fuck apart. Maybe don't go into the season with the lowest pay-roll in the league and invest in some real bench talent, and see what happens.

I want a coach that will be upset after a loss like this. Byron's unemotional robotic self pisses me off more than his other faults.

Name me a player(s) you would have signed in the off-season.

This isn't new news regarding Byron. The tape has been out on him for a long time.

No one. This is what I wanted. This is what most of the board wanted. But don't get pissed off when the lack of talent rears its ugly head in the form of Daniel Gibson getting minutes at point in a game everyone wanted to win. Its what we signed up for.

Ask any beat writer what Byron thinks about rookies. You're talking out your arse.

Ohh Scott was definitely undermanned. That (obviously) isn't debatable. But that run was epic and to not call even one time out during that stretch is inexcusable.

In other words, any coach can use all his time outs. It's how you use them is what matters. And what plays are drawn up. The 3rd quarter and the last 20 seconds needed time outs to regain composure and we got zero. That's 100% on Scott.

Tell that to the rest of the 23 teams before us...

In the real world, we got up to play this team to only lose by 3. The Heat dismantled us with their stifling defense almost exactly in the same fashion I just watched them do against the Celtics... or the Magic... or the "insert name here". These guys play with their food before they eat it. We ain't the first.
