GAME 68 | Cavaliers vs Heat | Wednesday Mar. 20 7:00 pm

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Rest, council, magic pills, none of it changes the fact that when Daniel Gibson plays point, everything falls the fuck apart. Maybe don't go into the season with the lowest pay-roll in the league and invest in some real bench talent, and see what happens.

Stop blaming the loss on Bobbie Gibson. Yes, he is not very good, but Byron's coaching was atrocious tonight. We were up by 27 points. 27! This is more the coach's fault than anyone else.

When you are a basketball coach, you adjust to the flow of the game. You use your eyes and you make decisions based on what you see. When you see Gibson and Walton bringing absolutely nothing, you replace them. You don't say "well... Gibson has a "PG" next to his name in my box score" so he must be the only other guy I can insert for Livingston. When Livingston needs a break, you say one of 2 things:

1. Sack up man, I need you for 20 more minutes. This is our championship.

2. Take a quick breather, and I mean quick. Wayne, you're our primary ball handler, but more importantly, everyone, MOVE. Both yourself and the ball. That way we don't need to break people down off the dribble. Our backup "point guard" is worse at that than our starting power forward anyway.

Can we please stop pretending that since Daniel Gibson is short, he can run an offense, or even dribble at all?

CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME WHY TYLER ZELLER DIDNT PLAY AT ALL DOWN THE STRETCH?

This is Byron's biggest mistake of the game.

No one. This is what I wanted. This is what most of the board wanted. But don't get pissed off when the lack of talent rears its ugly head in the form of Daniel Gibson getting minutes at point in a game everyone wanted to win. Its what we signed up for.

I'm pissed because we lost a game where we had a 28 point lead against the Heat (yes, it still matters more than any other team) and couldn't hold, for many reasons (coaching, shitty play, turnovers galore, Boobie and Assfingers playing, no Kyrie, Dion, Andy).

Watch Scott Brooks, Doc Rivers, Popovich, and shit even watch D'Antoni. During the game, they talk to the team. During timeouts, they talk to their players, they get them fired up (Popovich maybe not as much lol). They dont stand there with their arms crossed. They COACH. When a team starts to make a run, they call a timeout, or mix up a rotation, they do something. Even with Gibson as the only other option, do something. He didn't. He stood there with his arms crossed. It may not have won us the game, but you never know what it could do for your players to see you fired up, wanting to win and showing you believe in them. It could of made the difference, or it couldn't of, but at least show the effort!

Tell that to the rest of the 23 teams before us...

In the real world, we got up to play this team to only lose by 3. The Heat dismantled us with their stifling defense almost exactly in the same fashion I just watched them do against the Celtics... or the Magic... or the "insert name here". These guys play with their food before they eat it. We ain't the first.

So what? Still doesn't mean it's acceptable, nor does it excuse shit coaching or gameplay. I understand we didn't have the quality or depth. I get it. It's one thing to lose after leading by 28 points: it's another to lose the way we did. Scott's been a head coach for, what 10,15 years now?

Goodnight all. Thanks for listening.

No one is pretending Daniel Gibson is any good. He blows. He does almost nothing well anymore, including shooting he ball. But you can't play Shaun Livingston 45 minutes. IT isn't fair to him. It's also fairly close to being morally wrong to a guy you know has had that many knee problems.

Don't go there. These people LOVE Byron. They are also clueless about the game of basketball. For the record, there is no explanation. Byron has done this shit his whole coaching career.

Dude, take a quick peek at your posting history. You are the definition of a troll.

It's okay to have a dissenting opinion, but a troll lurks in the shadows until there is a complaint to be made, sets it on fire, and launches it flaming into the masses.

If you want to contribute to the board, suck a little of the venom out of your system and join the civilized conversation all the time, not just when you are salivating at the chance to dance on the apparent Byron Scott grave that you've so flamboyantly dug.

We might be beginning to experience why Byron is known as a great rebuilding coach.

Ask any beat writer what Byron thinks about rookies. You're talking out your arse.

He thinks so lowly of them to start them over everybody else? Logical in your mind huh?

Agreed, so why not set up the low post game? it was working so well before, why not go back to it? Made no sense.

I wanted this win. But I want every win. What I want most of all now is for Daniel Gibson to never, ever, play for this team again after this season.

They needed to win THIS game. You play your guys the necessary minutes to stop Lebron and the streak. They could lose the next 10 and fans would still be talking about this night. Just an atrocious job by Scott. He has zero feel for the game and is stumped when the jumpers stop falling.
