Game 77 | Cavaliers @ Celtics | April 4th, 2010 | 1:00 PM (EST)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We came back from 22 points to take the first lead of the game.....then LeBron goes Kobe on us with the pull up 3 but he doesn't make it.......even after that he goes one of two at the line and we are down 2 instead of 1. Garnett then makes both and that's game......LeBron lost this one even though he single handily brought us back.

I think we are way over-blowing this. It's a regular season game that proved nothing except that the Celtics have no chance against us in the playoffs if we play with intensity for more than a quarter. We're going to have HCA throughout whether we win this game or not, because we won't lose every game from here on out if we actually play everyone and try to win.

As for LeBron's decision making, Shaq will be in his ear telling him what to do.

I think everyone in here realizes that this proves how good we are more than the Celtics making a statement.

It's just the upsetting way the game ended. Oh well, Toronto is in for it when we face them.

A fastbreak pull up 3, down 2 with 20 seconds left after he has been destroying Boston on the drive isn't a "decent look" it is Ricky Davis/JR Smith-esque stupidity.

Yeah, I don't have many bad things to say about Lebron in this one... he almost single handedly won the game for us. But I think we should all agree that that was a very poor choice for the shot.

That shot was not a "Win at All Costs.. Make the best Move" shot. That was a "We've basically accomplished what we wanted, we only need 1 of our last 7 games to clinch, let's just roll the dice and try and punch our card and get out of here."

That decision doesn't worry me at all because I hardly think it represents anything he plans on doing in a game that actually matters.

If LeBron makes the shot, he's got huge cojones and has ice in his veins and "did the right thing by going for the win on the road".

He missed, so now he gets all the associated flak, when in reality the game was lost in so many other aspects.

I'm not gonna complain, I'm ready to hop onto Expressway LBJ heading straight to Exit 23 and stopping at the Larry O Brien trophy store.

Right. This was a game we didn't really need to win. If we did, we call a timeout, and the next possession LeBron breaks down, and either gets to the basket or kicks out for a wide open three.

Heck, it was a clean look. I'm not gonna go crazy over this one. I'm not scared of Boston, but having to go through them, Orlando, and LA would contain too much commotion. Not that we couldn't do it on the court though.

# LeBron on Celtics: "We don't like them and they don't like us." 3 minutes ago via web
# LeBron seemed to be amused by Garnett & Tony Allen's trash talking at the end. Sort of dismissive, but credited Celtics with good game. 10 minutes ago via web
# Cavs actually feeling good in locker rm. Didn't say it when media was in but barely losing with 3 centers at end sent message to Cs. 11 minutes ago via web
# LeBron no regrets about taking 3, said he wanted to win. Also, said he saw Jamison had rebouding position.

Bunch of Windy post-game tweets.

Ultimately, this game was lost because of FTs as we all know. Yea, LeBron took an illogical shot, but as IBWT said this was a meaningless game and a win without OT would have been better than a loss in OT.

That's my point. It was a decent look. I'll trust him to win more games than he loses for us, to be honest.

No, the if scenario was too stupid to begin with. So was LeBron hoisting up a 3 in a fastbreak with just 2 defenders. Not to mention the defense featured a Ray Allen. I don't want to rip LeBron's mindset but c'mon, a retard would have made a better decision than that.

Let's say I wanna ride in every apologists' little fantasy world of "if" and he makes the shot. That's still is dumb shot and glad that he made it. But he didn't.

Story of the game: Stupid shot. Brain-frying decision. What ever happened before that defining moment didn't matter until LeBron killed every Cavs fans brain cells with that shot.

Someone is taking Michael Jordan's quote about missing game-winning shots too seriously.

I disagree, and I'm hardly a LeBron apologist. I get on LeBron very often about his fourth quarter play, shot selection, defense at times. I just don't feel that the shot he took there was the worst decision ever. I think he saw he had a clean look, saw Jamison under the rim in position to rebound, and decided we were going to either win the game or not right there in regulation.

I thought you usually go for the win on the road... Why tie the game? It was an open look, fast break or not.

Lol @ w/ Andy we would have won by double digits.

If we played hard the first 3 quarters of this game we would have won by double digits.

Sorry people,no matter how good the comeback was,it came down to that same ole ineptness..free throws, free throws..had they made them they would have won.

2 obsevations:

NOBODY in basketball can stop LBJ, NOBODY.

Nobody can stop Lebron... except Lebron.

For some reason he just stops going to the rim when it has been proven to be the most effective way for him to score. I'm not going to fault him for the last shot of the game, but the several possessions prior to that were maddening. When we took the lead for the first time and then he proceeded to pull up for the jumper instead of driving, that was worse than the final shot IMHO.

Plus, it was Lebron who left Ray Allen open for the three that put them back up by 4. That was worse than the final shot he took as well. So he made his mistakes, but as was mentioned... he was the only reason we were within striking distance to begin with.

Not even an ample reason to hoist the 3. What's with the defeatist mindset? Win the game or not win in the OT? As much as I don't want to rag LeBron's mindset and make, he's coming of as an immature, self-absorbed and attention whore of a great player. All the greats will try to win the game in the most efficient and sure way.

You see teams do it ALL the time. The general rule of thumb is-go for the win on the road, go for the tie at home. You don't want over-time on the road, especially tonight. The Cavs went for the win rather than play overtime. They missed the shot. It happens.
