No LeBron, No Shaq tonight against Hawks. Everyone else likely to play. Mike Brown said he "wasn't close" to playing Shaq.

some good news from shaq:

PDcavsinsider

Shaq isn't playing but is in great mood, said this had been one of most enjoyable seasons of his career, can't wait for playoffs.

PDcavsinsider

Shaq said he "thinks about winning a title for City of Cleveland everyday"

Shaq: I would effin love to stay in Clwveland. I'm having one of best times of my life.

Doesn't matter if we win the last game of the regular season. What matters is we win the last game of the playoffs!

This IS the year....

Mo...great preview...thorouly enjoyed the recap.

why am I stoked for this game? Maybe because in days we are gonna be straight dominating the league again

I remember hearing something last night during the Bulls-Celtics game where in the past Commissioner Stern fined a team for purposely resting players that were not injured at the end of the season. When asked if it was something that would happen this season, the report was that Stern would bring it up at the next Board of Governor's meeting.

I personally hope that it does get brought up. And honestly, I can understand the outside media's frustration at LeBron blatantly getting excessive time off from playing. I know we are all worried about someone on our team getting injured, but think about this trend growing to other teams (like lottery bound teams or teams like us that have no motivation to advance in the standings) holding back players. That does damage fan morale in more casual fans and does hurt the NBA overall, especially in nationally televised games (like the Orlando-Cleveland ABC game). At the end of the day, money talks. Especially when there is issues about determining the salary cap and a possible looming lockout.

I don't agree with casual fans (or opposing writers or fans) getting mad about letting our superstar get some rest and gear up for our championship push. What does irritate me is that LeBron does get whatever he wants whenever he wants. I am however, a little bit concerned about LeBron getting too much time off. I mean I know he's LeBron and he has another gear for the playoffs. However, I could also see him go into LeIso mode and start forcing things like he did in Boston (when he went 0-9 from 3 point range), especially if the game is close, Mo vanishes, and Shaq is also rusty. The guy played his last game 8 days ago, April 6th. Assuming we play Sat or Sun, that's April 17th or 18th.

I was looking forward to at least seeing LeBron hit the court tonight and get himself going a little bit. Keep in mind he did also get a week-long breather for a stretch of games not that long ago. If he was playing spectacular basketball (especially his jumpshot, 3-point shot, and free throws) before this break, then I wouldn't care. The defense has also been subpar lately. Shaq and Antawn need time to gel during a game. I mean, look at what Mo went through adjusting to Antawn. Everyone has to transition for Shaq and his touches. It's not going to be a seamless transition (it won't be as big of a shock as the beginning of the season though) and these games matter more.

I am not the most knowledgeable fan when it comes to history. But I know what I see when I watch games. The adjustment period may have been lessoned a little bit had Shaq and LeBron been able to play a bit with Jamison. The defense and free throws need to pick up a little bit too. I'm optimistic and I believe this is our year, but I am not happy with the decision to use the Playoffs (against a resurgent Bulls team as of late) to just fix things on the fly.

Anyone else laughing at the fact we lost to Orlando by six without LeBron and Shaq?
Anyone else laughing at the fact we lost to Chicago by one without LeBron, Delonte and Shaq?
Anyone else laughing at the fact we lost to the Pacers by three without Twan, Mo, LeBron, and Shaq, and Delonte for half of the game?

So without HUGE pieces to our puzzle, we lost to our biggest opponent, a team we may play in the first round, and a joke team by a total of ten points.

Anyone heard whether the Hawks are planning on playing their starters given that their seeding is locked up?

Windy said earlier today in his interview podcast that tonight will have a preseason game feel to it - for both teams ...

What a great season. I can't believe it is over. It went by so fast.
