If Allen comes back in to start the 4th quarter, you’re asking him to play 12 minutes straight and likely be gassed by 3 minutes remaining. I do agree he should have come in sooner though, maybe with 9 or 8:30 remaining.

yeah, it's just that both mcgee and cedi shouldn't be playing together. too many mistakes waiting to happen.

A lot to digest in this one, but the turnovers on 3 consecutive possessions right after the 2 minute mark was the reason for the loss. Multiple chances to go up by 2 possessions. All 3 were wade and Sexton at the top of the key. Needed more motion and Allen involved.

It’s tough to navigate. You’ve got Drummond, Nance, Delly, and Love all unavailable and then Garland was out. Hopefully some of these roster dead spots get sorted, both for this season and long term

I believe the Cavs turned it over at least 4 times trying to make passes to players (Sexton and Garland) that were smothered by McConnell.

Some of that is the dudes passing.

But some of that is those two not being physical enough and creating some space from McConnell.

One was definitely Windler to Sexton at the top of the key and Sexton didn’t seal McConnell and let him get over him to the ball. Not sure why they didn’t just have Sexton bring it up if they were just going to try and force him the ball as soon as they got in the half court.

That was the one Wade was trying to get to Allen at the top of the key. Sexton's backcourt violation the ball slipped out of his hands.

The fact that at the end of the game JBB wasn’t running screens to free our ball handlers up from him (especially when we’re missing Garland and relying on Windler to bring the ball up) is beyond me.

But yeah - fair point, the players need to adjust to McConnel’s style of play as well as the coaching staff.... just everything that happened in those crunch time possessions were really head scratching.

Yeah it was multiple guys messing up, those 3 possessions are hopefully a teaching point for the future

if you watch the replay, sexton was motioning to windler to make the pass farther so it will be out of reach by mcdonnell. windler instead threw it deeper.

frustrating but understandable for a rookie. but still frustrating.

He just had an appendectomy. That's just shitty luck. Let's see what happens.

The original fall and neck injury was bad luck as well. It’s unfortunate. But an extremely compressed schedule coming up after break. If he needs much more than nine days, I hope they make the move. Dotson seems to have fallen off the cliff, so more is needed at PG. Add Delly back as coach; if he can play next year, ok.
