Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #10 | Cavs @ Raptors | Nov. 5, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I like the approach of dumping the ball into the low post to Mobley or Allen, whoever has the best matchup, and letting them back down their man for a short jump hook. The Raptors will double, which will open up a pass to the perimeter for an open 3. With the height of Allen and Mobley they should be able to pass out of a double team without getting the pass stolen or deflected.

We need to avoid the small Cavs guards driving baseline and getting trapped under the backboard and trying to squeeze a pass into the paint. The Raps have a lot of tall, lanky guys who will be looking for that.

Cedi Osman has made 14 of his last 24 shots from distance, or 58.3%. Obviously that's not sustainable, but I'm hoping he can keep it going for another game or two. Having a 6'8" wing who can hit 3's consistently would be huge, even if he hurts the team on defense and the glass. Obviously the new ball isn't bothering Cedi - quite the contrary. Maybe he grew up playing with Wilsons in Turkey.

Svi Mykhaliuk is having a breakout season so far.

Averaging 9 pts in 18 min on .73 TS%.

You might think...eh 9 pts, but the dude is having a big impact on their offense because of his gravity and shot making. He is shooting lights out to start the season and playing good D. Cavs will need to key on him and limit his open looks.

We hung with the Blazers because we shot the lights out from 3 with our bench. Give all of the analysis @Wham with the Right Hand provided with evidence (thank you Sir!) we're going to need to shoot very well tonight to have a chance. Garland & Rubio are assist & turnover machines - we need to cut down on the turnovers but I think it will take awhile to do that. Allen feasts off teams without legitimate Cs so we we need to feed the 'fro early and often.

Every game is exciting because we still don't know what we have and our boys have played with heart, determination and courage. So proud of them. Great days for Cavalier fans because even if we lose our young bloods are learning and they'll get better.

We got this people but damm one game home stead and on the road again what in the guck is this hahaha
My wife and I went to the first 2 home games on 10/22 and 10/23. I told her Wednesday night (11/3) that it was the first Cavs game of the year without us. The second without us won't come until next WEDNESDAY (11/11). Mind-boggling to get 8 of your first 11 on the road,

-97% of the money on the moneyline bets are on the Cavs at +185.
-80% of the money is on the Raptors to cover -5.5.
-93% of the money is on the Under 205.

So it looks like the public thinks its either a very easy win for the Raptors or any sort of win for the Cavs. There's not a lot of faith that the Cavs would lose a close one but they think it will be defensive battle. Not sure I've seen such a huge disparity in the moneyline versus who will cover in a while.

This is the first game i really don't have a good feeling about...they have so much wing length and we are depleted 3 rotation guys.
The only thing i think keeps us in this game is if Windler and Cedi come off the bench hot like the last game. Hope I'm wrong.

Wins and lessons man. Wins and lessons.

Trent always kills us. Defend him and we should have a big change of winning

The key to tonight’s game, I think, is convincing OG that he wants to come to Cleveland, right? Then we are on our way!

Happy I am stuck watching a mini documentary on Kevin Pangos before this game on the Raptors telecast

That's the way it looks to me as well. Although I think Allen could have a big game being guarded by 6'7" to 6'9" guys and Sexton had a couple of big games against Toronto last year. But everybody will have to bring their A game if the Cavs are to have a shot at breaking the Raptors' five-game win streak.

The key will be limiting turnovers and Raptors' offensive rebounds.

Was hoping Okoro would be back tonight.

Toronto hasn't played against a team with good size yet this year. They should have an edge in breaking up our point of attack, but we should have an edge in keeping them from scoring at the rim too. Interesting test case for both teams.
