Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #15 | Celtics @ Cavs | Nov. 15

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cool deal.

Love was at the game, on the bench, up and high-fiving and cheering two nights ago.

So if he still had it, he wouldn't have been there.
Who would've thought that having a respiratory virus that does havoc on the lungs would cause a player to need to get back into playing shape/conditioning level? The fucking audacity of Kevin Love for collecting checks again.

The NBA also makes a much bigger deal about their COVID protocols than the NFL.

2-9 from the field and its Denzel playing well... oh boy
He was in for the majority of the second half, including the massive run. It’s hard to fault him or the choice to keep the hot unit in.

Do I want him to get regular minutes, no.

Excited to see how both teams adjust to playing each other back to back with a day for practice and film study in between.

Almost like a mini playoff series, so it’s a great experience for the young guys again. While I can’t imagine Tatum being as bad as he was Saturday, I also dont see the Cavs being as cold as they were in the first half the other night.

Yes, because Kevin Love is a known warrior who battles through pain and injury to get back on the court. As proven throughout his entire career.

I'm sure if he can't go, no other player would be able to go either.

In terms of replicating the success we had Saturday, it should be pointed out that we shot an abysmal 10-38 from three. The Celtics shot equally bad, but they also shot far fewer threes. If both teams are close to their season averages, we win that game far more comfortably.

Since this is the hill you want to die on, I'll let you have it. Clearly Kevin Love is just collecting checks and didn't actually have Covid. He's perfectly fine but fuck it, he's sitting for the next 3 months.

Sometimes I wish you could hear how stupid you sound, but deaf ears.

I mean this seems like more of an an argument to make if and when Markannen comes back before Love? Even then, it affect different people differently but seeing as Markannen is on the exact same timeframe and still not playing, I tend to lean more of this just being a case of the Cavs and NBA handling it a certain way rather than Kevin playing hooky From school.

Who said he didn't have Covid? You're just making up a fallacy to argue against here.

I get that you're a Kevin Love fanboy because he stayed when LeBron left, and that, by default, makes him the good guy.

But collecting checks is largely all he's done since that point. He's rarely been healthy, been bad on the court when he is, hasn't kept himself in shape in the off-season, and had a generally shitty attitude at various times since re-signing.

So yes, I'm saying, given all that, Kevin Love, if he were made of tougher stuff, would be playing tonight.

And yet, better athletes, and by better, I mean FAR SUPERIOR ATHLETIC PROWESS than Kevin Love have been absolutely devastated by Covid and weren't even close to the same player for multiple weeks, see Myles Garrett.

I'm not a Kevin Love fanboy. I just have realistic expectations and understand that sometimes sunk cost is just that, sunk cost.

But yup, he's just sitting on his ass refusing to give it a go because Rich has deemed him to be of bitch made quality.

He's definitely made of bitch made quality and proved that this summer when handed an Olympic spot.

That's beyond question at this point.

Thanks for proving what kind of joke you really are. I really do attempt to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you really are a fucking douche.

Like, I think @Los216 takes are stupid, but I don't think less of him as a person. But you? No, your shtick is so ridiculous that you'll go back on my ignore list. At least my shit posts are funny. You're just pathetic.

How will I ever manage?

So the plan will be for the Celtics to play all their best players 48 minutes tonight? Sounds good, on paper lol.
Thats the plan if you're talking about the Celtics playing their best 8 or 9 players for 48 minutes, just like every other team does. They didn't have two of their top eight players Saturday and had to put in guys who normally don't play.

For example, Jabari Parker only played in only 4 of the Celtics 12 games before Saturday, averaging 10 minutes per game. He had not sniffed the court in nine days going into Saturday. Stevens figured with a 19-point cushion late in the 3rd quarter he could give Parker some minutes. Well, big mistake. The Cavs went on a 17-2 run with Tatum, Smart, and Robert Williams on the bench.

Tonight the Celtics will be able to play their best players all 48 minutes and the Cavs will need to step up their game if they want to get another win. Nine-point first quarters and 10-for-38 on 3's won't cut it this time around.

Without Lauri, we really need Garland/Mobley/Allen to play well to tonight and really need someone else to step up and score some buckets. Another outburst by Rubio would be great timing.
