Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #16 | Cavs @ Nets | Nov. 17, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
DG, Rubio, Windler, Okoro, Love?
Hell.. Love might not even play. This game could get nasty.
True, but I would rather Love at PF for the time being than Wade though. Rebounding and shooting purposes.

Damn. Allen, Mobley, Lauri, and Stevens are out. The Cavs might have to rely heavily on Love.

Hey, maybe Ricky Rubio will channel his ‘inner Steph,’ like the last time he was in NY and carried us to victory?

Gonna need that from DG and Cedi as well. I forgot about Cedi. He’s been on fire.

I’d probably start Tacko LOL. Fuck it.

Bring up some of the charge players.

Rubio, DG, Okoro, Cedi, Tacko? LOL

You never know what can happen in an NBA game. DG could go off. Love could get 18 and 10. The Nets could be sluggish.

Who am I kidding though? I'm going to the game tonight so I need to have some hope. You know it's bad when I really with Lamar Stevens was even available.

My defensive worries are stronger than my offensive fears. We have Rubio, Garland. Dean Wade is capable of hitting shots. Cedi. I could go on.

But we are soft as hell on D without Allen and Mobley. And effort only goes so far.

Nets will be playing their third game in four days and second night of a back-to-back. At full strength I think the Cavs could win this one, but I don't see how we can contain James and KD. I think those guys will get whatever they want.

So, if I'm reading this right: The good news - they won't take advantage of our lack of shot blocking and rebounding because they rarely take it to the rim. The bad news - pretty much everything else.
Without Allen and Mobley they probably will take it to the rim just like Boston did in the fourth quarter.

I just hope we don’t go back to having to rely too heavily on Love. Before coming down with COVID, he was finding a nice niche coming off the bench.
Agree, but with Allen, Mobley and Lauri missing there isn't much choice. Short term thing though. In a week we should have Allen and Lauri back.

The good news is they're playing their third game in four days, they have some older players, and they're not very deep once you get past Durant and Harden. Also, the Cavs had a day off and will be playing some guys who are hungry for a chance to impress.

It will be young and scrappy against old and talented. Scrappy can only take you so far.

Over or under we lose by 25?
VegasInsider actually has spreads between 9.5 and 11. That seems like easy money. I don’t think people understand how much Mobley and Allen had to do with keeping us in games. We will struggle to score and struggle to defend, tonight. It will be ugly. How would it NOT be?

Got to say, this is some real gamesmanship by the Cavs, withholding their A lineup from one of the teams likely playoff opponents. Good to keep their cards close to the vest if they are going to go Mutombo Nuggets on the Nets later on.

Wish Ohio had legal sports betting… Brooklyn is only 10 point favorites… I bet they win by at least 20 tonight

While I agree anything could happen in the NBA; Darius Garland "going off" isnt one of them. He has had only 1 30 point game in his career. If he breaks 20; ill be happy.

Paul Millsap (personal reasons) will remain out on Wednesday as the Nets take on the Cavaliers.

Milsap has missed extended time due to undisclosed personal reasons and this will be the case again on Wednesday. Even when he is in the lineup though, he is not a fantasy target.

We haven't seen this level of scrap from a Cavaliers team since Mike Fratello was coach. That said, I wouldn't put anything past them, as their effort level has always been there, regardless of who the opponent has been.

Taco v Durant. Lock him up big fella.

Anyone know a good taco stand that can give D the sheets ? Only shot.

Not gonna watch thus live without Mobley. Will probably catch a replay.
