Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #73 | Cavs @ Raptors | March 24, 2022 | 7:30 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Starting Love and playing him extended minutes against a super athletic team with shooting is such a recipe for disaster.

Almost all of the Raps offense stemmed from the hard hedge that Love does (since he cannot really do anything on defense) during pick and rolls. Open shots after open shots because of that 90s style defense.

When they have a 5 who can shoot the three, meaning all the players are able to make shots, Love is literally useless on the squad. He can't close out a sale, let alone a player at the 3 point line. And on top of that, our terrible coach plays a scheme where they leave players open from three to double the post. Fucking idiotic.

Rubio really covered JBBs stupidity. It seems now that most of what we had during the first half of the season was due to Rubio calling his own plays. Maybe we hire the Spaniard as our coach, no?

I don’t know what happened to DG but it seems his all star selection is getting to his head and he is looking at one on one at every opportunity. The ball is stopping sooooo much instead of getting to sets quickly.

His #1 PnR partner is gone. His backup PG is gone. We have no spacing. He has much less protection defensively. He has nobody taking any offensive pressure off of him in any way shape or form while on the court. Elite movement and sets require a team of high level/IQ offensive players and we just don’t have that.

I think he’s running out of gas for the season at this point. The entire team is too. He’s a third year guard who was a relative letdown before this season when he broke out. He was an all star reserve, not all NBA First team guard.

I can’t pile on Garland for any of this. Without him we would be a laughingstock.

This ruined him.

Team had a totally different energy with The Rubio-god.

This is why you don’t make predictions before the ASB. I’m comfortable scouting for the 12th pick right now and that it won’t be a waste of time to do so.

Rather like picking at a sore, I want to see how our individual stats are.

Garland, Okoro, and Osman had sub-par games. Our defense was below average at the perimeter. We gave up too many fast break points.

Starters:
Markkanen 20-5-1 with a steal in 36 minutes Our high scorer.
Love 12-10-4- with 2 steals in 33 minutes
Mobley 11-8-1 with 3 blocks in 39 minutes. He was 5-7 from the field It's criminal he only got 7 shots. He should get 15 EVERY GAME.
Okoro 6-1-4 in 27 minutes
Garland 18-3-10 in 38 minutes He shot only 7-18 and 1-6 from 3. Off game for him.

Bench: 37-9-4 in 24 minutes
LeVert 11-1-1 in 23 minutes He still doesn't really click with our team yet. He was 3-4 from 3.
Stevens 16-6-2 with a steal in 24 minutes Our best bench player
Osman 4-1-1 in 11 minutes. He was only 1-5
Goodwin 6-0-0 in 1:35 Two 3 point plays. Well done!
Brown 0-1-0 in 1:35
Nembhard, Windler, Davis no stats in 1:35

Let levert do whatever he did at Indiana. If it means he'll have to ball hog, so be it, but why can't he score 40 here? Seems he was all iso in Indiana.
