Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Trash

You're trashing one of the few Cavs players who showed up with playoff level intensity and one of the few who stepped up to the challenge... makes me think you don't know much about basketball.

I know like..Markennen was playing with the required effort all night AND was making huge shots.

Yea, he can't hang with Trae Young. It's why I thought switching the whole night wouldn't work out in the long run. Because he's not Giannis or Durant. Trae Young is plenty good enough to start cooking him 1on1. ANd, eventually, he did.

But Trae Young is great and Markennen should never be expected to guard him in space.

But that's the personnel we have and I thought, honestly, JBB made a good choice running that defense. It worked for the most part. And Markennen competed.

I’ve hated him all season. I have no objectivity when it comes to Lori.

I think one of the things that still upsets is having to come to the realization Trae is just a truly dominant offensive player now and that, sometimes, he is unstoppable.

He's so easily hateable as a player and his style can really become a chore to watch that there's a bias built in that we then have to assume that if you weren't able to stop him it's because of something your players or your coach did wrong.

But he's just really very, very good and was the best player on the court tonight by a mile.

It wasn't Lauri's fault or Bickerstaffs fault tonight that he cooked us.

Lauri is physically soft, but he’s a keeper for me.

He’s resilient and he’s a guy I trust in the rotation of a big game.

Garland / ? (Rubio?)
? / Sexton or LeVert (NOT both)
? / ?
Mobley / Lauri
Allen / ?

Imo Lauri is suited to be the backup 4 for this team going forward since the 3 big lineup really isn't ideal defensively against good offensive teams and because Love is obviously older and not part of the team's long term future. We desperately need two capable starting wings. Hopefully the lotto pick can fill one of those slots. Really would love to get Rubio back in the backup PG role but I don't know how realistic that is. Backup 3 and 5 should be filled with vets. I don't see Okoro being part of this team's future unfortunately.

It would be a godsend if they could manage to move Love this off-season and we could turn him into some cheaper, more maleable parts.

Of course, losing shooting would hurt quite a bit but Kevin Love just makes way too much money to get 10 minutes in a play-in game. You can turn that 30 million into multiple parts that help the squad more. Or at least, that's my dream.

I was actually thinking about this a few days ago... Would LA do Love and Cedi for Westbrook (buyout) and their 2 distant unprotected firsts?

I mean I can think of a certain SF in LA the Cavs could trade for using Love's salary

I think the Cavs are past the point of caring about first round picks 5+ years from now. Not sure they have enough value to bring back good players, and the Cavs won’t be making those picks in their contention window.

Buyout in the summer before he's been paid a cent of his deal?

I dunno. I'd have to actually be convinced Westbrook would agree to be bought out as opposed to just saying he'd like to play for a young, good team and make all his money instead before thinking about it.

If that ever seems plausible, I'll think about it.

I don't think it's plausible because I don't think LeBron James is ever gonna allow himself to be traded.

Rich, where do you think they go with roster moves? try to move the 1st round pick? assuming it doesn't hit.

Here's the last individual stats of the year for the Cavs:

Starters:
Markkanen 26-8-0 with 2 steals and a block in 36 minutes Good game. He was 10-17. I would want him to take even more shots.
Mobley 18-8-5 with 2 blocks 6-12 I want him to take more shots too. 6-12
Allen 11-3-2 with a block in 35 minutes Welcome back! He wasn't up to par, but it was a game effort.
LeVert 16-3-5 with a steal in 40 minutes.
Garland 21-3-9 with 3 steals in 43 minutes. He was only 9-27, so he didn't have it going outside. I'd want him to take fewer shots and give it to Mobley, Markkanen, and Allen.

Bench: 9-10-2 in 22 minutes. Very short bench tonight
Okoro 6-4-0 with a steal in 22 minutes.
Love 3-4-0 with a steal in 10 minutes
Rondo 0-2-2 with a steal in 15 minutes
How does Love only play 10 minutes when he’s our most experienced playoff player next to rondo. Just didn’t make sense to me
