Playing Rondo was a colossal failure but JBB couldn’t see it during the game and had predetermined rondo would play big mins.

Spoiler… Garland isn’t Trae yet and also we don’t have the off the ball guys to open up the floor like Atlanta does.
My guy, he didn’t even make it to 15 minutes. In what world are those “big minutes”?Playing Rondo was a colossal failure but JBB couldn’t see it during the game and had predetermined rondo would play big mins.
While that's definitely an advantage that can't be overlooked, I also think Trae in general holds up better than Garland does over the course of the game when he has to bear a huge offensive load. We've seen this a lot this season where as the game goes on DG starts to fade and the jumpers aren't falling like they were. Garland seems to be at his best when he's not the guy who's creating every possession. That's why we were at our best when he played alongside Rubio and he spent a lot of possessions off the ball. I truly think that role is where Garland will succeed. Where he's not this dominant alpha on offense like Doncic, LeBron, or Trae, and is more so in an offense that prioritizes everyone getting involved and having creation opportunities. And that's not a bad thing at all, because the best case outcome for a guy in that role is Steph Curry, who's arguably the greatest offensive weapon ever.Trae Young also gets to play a spread floor with multiple elite shooters and 1 athletic rim runner.
Garland is playing with 2 7 footers, one with no range and one with range but needs time to develop it. His 2 guard is a slasher that shoots 33% from 3. So Garlands working with 1 relatively streaky 35-37% 3 pt shooter.
They cant be compared. Two different players with different teams and different offenses. Trae was better for a game like tonight. Garland may be the better guy long term for building a title.
Too much Rondo and Okoro together. What did he do tonight that you wished was different?
I though he picked the correct starting lineup. Did you disagree?
I’d rather have anyone on the team out there over Osman. I think it’s laughable hindsight to have wanted him out there tonight.
He didn’t play Stevens. Oh well.
What did he do so badly with rotations?

Reasonable take but I don’t see why we can’t switch coaches in two to three years if JBB doesn’t show enough improvementAlso, we clearly had 50% Allen tonight. He was nowhere close to being ready. He would not have been ready for or effective against Bam Adebayo.
Come back hungrier next year. The last two games were honestly better playoff experience than getting absolutely thrashed by a really really good Heat team with multiple stars.
I'm OK with the outcome. I really am.
I am extremely, extremely, extremely concerned about the head coach of this roster in a long term sense. I think we will continue to grow under him, but I also foresee a totally unnecessary playoff disappointment once we ARE ready maturity and talent wise.
1. Trae Young hit 4 30-footers in the 2nd half. That's 12 points right there in a 6 point game. There's nothing you can do about those shots.
2. With that said, what was our offense in the second half? Give enough time, any NBA team can adjust to your same ole pick and roll over and over again. No creativity. No movement. Same ole turnovers right out of timeouts. Too much reliance on Rondo for some reason. Too much wasting like 15 seconds doing nothing.
3. Refs really killed the momentum a few times. Shame on them.
4. This really might be a blessing in disguise. Good learning experience for the team, the sting of losing. The pick should hopefully help a lot. This team really needs more shooters. Hope this is also an opportunity for the front office to review JBB's coaching, but I doubt anything will happen.
Thank god I dont come to this website for your opinion.
I’d rather see JBB get exposed sooner rather than later.I wanted to see the Cavs in the playoffs but once they lost to the Nets I wasn't THAT interested in it.
Miami, with their coaching, their toughness, and their intelligent players would have absolutely creamed this team. You would have saw four straight games of second half adjustments just slow rolling this team off the floor.
Thought they had a punchers chance against Boston.
Miami..no.
Ok. The Cavs could have used his 25 points tonight though.Colin Sexton isn't in Trae Young's stratosphere lol.
