Game Thread | 2021-22 Season | Game #9 | Trailblazers @ Cavs | Nov. 3, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Given the circumstances, would start Wade or Windler at the three. I'm thinking Wade will probably get the nod. Lamar at backup 4 or maybe Wade covers there too?

I think we're going to see more Garland-Sexton-Rubio especially with the small back-3 Portland runs.

Hopefully Windler gets some good run tonight.

Would also consider splashing some Tacko into the mix for a short time in the 2nd quarter. 2-3 minutes. He hasn't played against Portland in his career, so it might throw some things off for a moment and spell some extra minutes for the Cavs bigs.

Why are they still Covid testing????? It doesn't matter if a vaccinated guy gets it at this age. Its only a .1% chance it gets something bad. Stop testing completely.

Right when Lauri was getting comfortable with his role and the team was building consistency in the front-court. Stupid protocols and useless vaccines.

now now. my mother who is 74-75 with mild copd got the vaccine and never got it despite being hacked on by another family member with Covid. I would say they are a tool and can be effective. There are no silver bullets. But not having a "Canuks" situation is good as well. Having a whole team sick and wasted from a outbreak would suck.

With Love out this is a great opportunity for Wade to show what he's got. With Markanen out it's a great opportunity for Cedi and Windler.

Time for the bench guys to step up and it wouldn't hurt if the guards upped their games as well.

Last year Wade ranked in the 99th percentile among forwards in the short-mid range category, which is 4-14 feet from the rim, hitting 62% of those shots. I'd like to see him take more of those short jumpers. He also hit 51% of his corner 3's last year, but only 34% of non-corner 3's. I'd like to see them run some plays where he spots up in the corner.

If he finds himself being guarded by a shorter player he should back his man down and shoot a turnaround in the paint or from the low post.

Cedi needs to keep hitting his 3's, although 48% is not sustainable. That and driving hard to the rim and drawing fouls.

I don't think having Cedi guard Powell is a good idea but I don't think Windler can contain him, either. Okoro would be a good matchup on Powell or McCollum, so it's too bad he's out. I'm expecting JBB to put Stevens on one or both of them at some point, probably if the Cavs get a lead.

Have they announced who will slot in to take Lauri's place yet?

Just to further the point: Are we ever gonna admit that maybe, just maaaybbbeeee, we need to rethink the way we go about this stuff?

12 out of 13 false positives....
Think they keep them in place for the safety of unvaccinated people. No one wants the liability of someone dying after going to a game or coming in contact with an athlete or team personnel.

It may feel stupid but children are still vulnerable until it gets approved. Gotta do what's best for everyone even if it feels silly.

Back to the Cavs: Pumped for this game and to see LNJ again.

This is a game thread and I really don’t care to read vaccine hot-takes from Cavs fans. There’s a politics forum where you can discuss all you want.
I agree we should not be talking about it here too much because it is a waste of breath , but I can't understand the notion that choosing to take a measure that might help you stay healthy is somehow a politically motivated topic

Yuck. I get putting Lauri at the 3 because of the height mismatch, but this is just a stretch.

Should have been Windler.
Windler and his arthritic hip aren’t ready for that kind of run.
