I don't take anything back but sorry for my overabundance of hot takes on the pro's and minus's of Evan Mobley's conditioning, body language, gait, ideal minutes per game, etc.

First thing I reflexively do when I wake up is check twitter, which I only use for NBA and other Cleveland related sports tweets.
When I saw the Koby tweet on his official "from the desk of..." digital stationary I first thought it was something serious like a scandal or resignation. When I read what he actually wrote, I thought I was still asleep and dreaming. Just such an odd choice and looks amateur as hell.

To me he always looked amateurish. Like... a dude that always tries way too hard to fit with the cool dudes.

Was never impressed when he talekd to the press or how he carried himself.

Professionaly, he has made some good moves recently, but he should have put the Cavs in a better position for a rebuild prior to getting Mobley. Mobley changed things.

Pretty much. I'd say assistant coach is the right role for him on a team that's hoping to do stuff. I'm not sure he's a championship winning coach without a LeBron like player at this point.

Would be perfect as an assistant on the Cavs. Not gonna happen though.

He's ignored the Cavs for the past 3 seasons only to throw out the occasional hit piece.

Hardly any steals and blocks as a team, Portland turned it over 9 times, but the Cavs still held down the fort as much as possible.

Out rebounded/assisted them.

Portland took 16 more shots as a team than the Cavs, but only made one more (39 FGM vs 40 FGM).

Solid win and the team pulled through!

Next one up on Friday in Toronto.

Garland wins that machup easily. And when can we say some shit like our PG won a key matchup vs a superstar?

He's lost more than usual. He didn't react much on the fly, but in the half court he played exceptionally well and accordingly.

His foot speed is most likely reason to blame why Norm went off and had open looks.

I can agree with you on that point while not agreeing that Mobley had to be taken out of the game. Though more minutes to Cedit certainly could have facilitated that to a result that we'll not know.

I think I was just reacting strongly because while I don't 100% percent disagree with your point, I just don't feel like the minutes played tonight or the 8 man rotation was some crime against basketball or crime against the health of any of our players.

Yes, some coaches would have gone deeper on their bench(even with the truly disgusting options) and some may have played the three bench guys more minutes to bring Mobley's or another starters minutes down by a few.

But I believe just as many current NBA coaches would have handled the minutes and rotations for this game similarly or the same as JBB did given the circumstances of Love/Lauri/Okoro out.

Maybe that still sounds dumb or crazy to you and fair enough. not trying to have any sort of final word but also not wanting to rehash it out much further than we already have.
