Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A lot of crow will be eaten around here when Mobley takes another step later in the season.

I also need to shout out drippy Dean. What a solid role-player on a great contract.

He’s closer to 21.5 than he is to 20. Not sure why you keep lying about his age to try to make the criticism seem more unfair. Just make your point with facts.

Admit that you are being more critical than years past.

It's funny, I used to watch the games live for years and during that time, which is middle of the night for me, I used to feel so heated and critical during that time. Could barely go to sleep after the games.

When you watch the game on replay, it's different so when I come to the gamethread after or during the game, you all look stupid. The ones criticizing JBB are cool with me regardless. Just kidding. Some criticism is welcome, but some Mobley takes are a bit over the top.

Mobley is forcing some actions in the post. I would like to see him used differently. In stride and in the short roll. However, he is still scoring efficiently, showing aggression and isn't shy. He is confident in his abilities and so is the coaching staff. That's always a good sign to me. He is still getting his legs under him and getting his basketball shape and stamina back. Give it time. There is no need to trade him for Banchero.

He needs to work on his rebounding and how to box out. Should really focus on his legs in the off season. A reliable 3pt shot would make him unguardable.

There is no crow to be eaten. No one is saying that Mobley cant be the cornerstone to this franchise, he has the potential to be great. Like all time great. What is being said is that we/they want more out of him than we saw last night.

I have no problem with what you just said. However I read multiple comments that Mobley has regressed, that they would trade him for Banchero, that Mobley could have been traded instead of Lauri….lots of very silly takes IMO that won’t age well as soon as Mobley rounds into form.

In fairness, they said Mobley could have been traded instead of Lauri and that the Cavs could have retained those picks if they gave up Mobley instead.

Which is still a big overreaction...

Banchero is an interesting take. I think Mobley's all around game makes him better at their peaks, but Banchero has a very mature offensive game and built like a shit brick house at a very young age. I wouldnt trade Mobley for him, but I dont want to bash Banchero, he is going to be a very good player and make multiple all star teams once he learns to play the game better.

I would love to eat crow about Mobley!

I missed the game itself but caught highlights today. Really love what we are seeing from the guys. Couple thoughts that other people have already observed:

Dean Wade as a 5th option in the starting group is so perfect. He is low usage but takes open shots and moves the ball when he doesnt have a look. Just a consummate role player and I love that fit with the squad.

It was highlights, so the Mobley misses were not included, but he is showing some flashes of an inbetween game with some nice flip shots and dribble moves. These things need to be worked on, but early in the season when we are missing our primary initiator is a great time for it. These are skills that will serve the Cavs well in 2-3 years when we may start relying on Mobley for more offense. His jumper looks great too. I continue to be impressed by his skills as an interior passer with that slick dish to Allen in the 3rd.

Allen might have issues with the really big big guys (Joel, JV, Joker), but man can he put the hurt on everyone else. Bol Bol is a twig, but WCJ and Bamba have real girth and he just shoved them around. He is regaining the pop he lost when he cut his hair. Love having him around.

No thinking bench Cedi is a treat and I am happy we unlocked him again there.

Mitchell continues to impress. He had a bad shooting night but still feel like you can see his impact on the game even in the highlights. He is a much better offensive rebounder than I would expect for someone his size and man is he explosive. He also had one layup where he just muscled through the Orlando wings and layed it in. Love that we have a guard that can do that.

Last thought applies to Caris and Mitchell. Both of these guys do a great job getting into the paint and it looks like they do a good job with kickout passes to open shooters in the corners and on the wings. I didn't notice either of them making many laydowns or dump offs to our bigs which I would like to see more of. Both actually pair with Garland for this reason as imo Garland is a bit weaker at the kickout pass but an absolute master of the laydown/dump off and can even mix it up with that floater.

Last observation for the Magic - Paolo is going to be a beast. He is so smooth for a guy his size and has a clean jumper. Really looking forward to see how this Orlando team looks in a few years with guys like him, WCJ, Franz, and Okeke

I’ll take Lenny Wilkins, but Fratello is a good one. I don’t get all the negativity towards him broadcasting. He’s the Czar of the Telestrator! Although this board is about 50% negative on EVERYTHING so I suppose it adds up.
Lenny was a great coach but he had major talent. Fratello won with less talent than the Lenny led teams!
