Game Thread | Game #81 | Cavs @ Magic | April 6, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah what was that from Cedi?

Spinal fluid?

I’m actually looking forward to this game, nothing to play for i expect the starting lineup to be ……
Neto
Cedi
Lopez
Wade
Steven
I would like to keep Rubio and his normal role, then you would have the 3 G-league players coming off the bench, curious to see Merrill let it fly tonight.

The adjustment we have made we are sitting our entire fucking team. JBB will be suiting up. Moondog is starting at PF.
Well this is good burn for the other guys to at least get loose if they’re needed in the playoffs

Since the game itself doesn't matter to either team, the "other stuff" will be the only reason to watch. Who will go hero and put up the most shots? Will Banchero/Wagner go off? How will the deep bench look? What will our offense/defense look like without the starters? What will the announcers talk about to fill air time? Will Serena look fine?

Will the ball actually be passed tonight? Will their be something recognizable as an offense? Stay tuned. Might be the most fun game of the season.
All these things happen in our normal games too.

The NBA is not Hoosiers.

For better or worse, all 15 player do not get absolutely equal treatment, opportunity, treatment, touches, etc.

That being said, yes, without 4 very good to great ball handling guards playing tonight, the overall ball movement should be more evenly and equitablly distributed.

Does that mean it’s the best approach for our roster when playing at full health and with a lack of reliable wing shooters? Probably not.

Hopefully the roster is more ready to handle that type of motion offense more often next year through both additions, development, and another year of familiarity

Cavs were -4.5 on Tuesday and are +10.5 tonight.

So sitting Mitchell, Garland, Levert, Allen and Mobley is worth 15 points?

Seems a bit light to me, lol

I love these games. Remember when we thought Boobie was going to break out crazy because he had really crazy night as lead guard last game of the season?

Opportunity for guys to get in if JB sees something he likes

Didn’t remember saying anything about equal opportunity. But passing the ball and running good offense is much harder to guard for any team than the iso ball I’ve seen lately. My preference is to maximize our potential in the playoffs.

Ah, our second string against whomever the Magic play. 80% chance of a loss, or, more positively, 20% chance of winning!

120-100 Magic.

I have low expectations.

Went the SF in 2003 with the wife & had bought tickets well in advance to the Giants game. It was the game after they clinched so Barry Bonds and every other starter didn’t play. Games like tonight absolutely suck for the fans.

Are the Magic resting their starters?
