Gonzalez Going Pro

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Indeed...but he did say he promised to come back and graduate.

No way gonzo goes first round, I'll gladly take any bets on that. The receiving core is too stacked. Calvin Johnson, Jarrett, Sidney Rice, Ginn are all going to go first round. That kid from Tennessee as well, probably also forgetting someone.

I see Gonzo going 2nd-3rd round. He's going to be a solid pro regardless.

As for Walker, I saw that on another website. I didnt catch much of Walker play, kind of surprising from what everyone is saying, that he could go 1st round next year. How good is this kid and what's his projection? The browns need a rb, maybe if he's a 3rd round talent, I sure wouldnt mind it.

I just want us to hopefully address the lines in the draft.

He is a solid all around back...he is like Pittman in a sense, but bigger (I believe) and more rounded.

I see him as a second rounder, maybe third rounder.

I'm picking Darius Walker to be the Maurice Jones Drew of the draft...no one wants to spend a 1st or 2nd necessarily but he'll pay dividends...Dame is a pass first run 2nd team and his draft stock is lower because of it.

He's going to be a good pro..

Julius Jones ring a bell.

Didn't Tatum Bell come from ND too?

He went to Oklahoma State... Right before Vernand Morency was there...

Rashaun Woods (WR), was in the draft and went to the Niners, in the same year I believe...

I knew Tatum Bell didn't go there what was I thinking..I just saw where he and Darrent Williams RIP went to school together..brain fart..

The receiving core will be fine. Hartline, Robiskie, and Small are all very good. They will be the starters. Dukes is suppose to be dynamite, but for some reason gets zero PT. I'll have to look into why that is. I think he may have been in the coaches' dog house for something. Lyons was supposed to be the next Braylon Edwards coming out of high school. Course, in three years he's gotten zero PT, but OSU has also had tremendous players ahead of him. He'll be a junior. His time is now. The big thing about losing BOTH Ginn and Gonzo is depth. Beyond those 5 I just mentioned you're looking at true freshmen. if a couple starters go down the frosh will be in the two deep. If healthy though, no worries.

Pittman is the big blow. Mo Wells is transferring (I think Georgia Tech), so OSU is looking at Beanie, and two true frosh. That's it! Brandon Saine better be all he's cracked up to be.

The other player that was considering leaving early was Barton. OT is probably the thinnest position on the roster. Ohio State only has 4 OTs, and one of them (Rehring) is a starting guard. With out Barton, they'd be two injuries away from starting a TE or guard at tackle. Thank god Barton decided to come back!

Isn't our best TE Marcel Frost coming back as well? Woulda been fun seeing him in the mix this season..Nicol did a decent job..

Mo shoulda stayed and been the 2nd back behind Wells..oh well

Has Pittman declared?

So far Gonzo is the only Buckeye to officially declare. My sources told me (pre-title game) Ginn will go and Pittman was 60/40 in favor of leaving. Barton had a presser last week saying he was staying. No one else is considering leaving early.

Frost transferred. He failed a drug test so he had to transfer.
D1-AA Jackson State, I believe.

Yep, he's a teammate of Haw with the Jackson State Doobies.

We need to keep Pittman. Establishing the run early in games will be key this season. Him and Chris Wells will be dynamite together, and take some pressure off of our revamped passing game.

I'm still hoping on Ginn Jr, because winning the field position battle and having him, a good reciever and a guy who defenses have to spread out keep an eye on, would help out the passing game emensly. But I'm sure he will go, as the sources say.

I'm still excited for this season. Expierenced defense looking to prove itself, a deadly running game (pending on whether or not Antonio is here), and a new QB.

I've been hearing a lot about RS Frosh Antonio Henton at least having a shot. This kid is lightning fast, and has a good arm. Not sure I agree with that. I don't want a freshman QB playing in UM this November.
