Goodbye Larry Nance Jr.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No, he was +3. 13 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks and only 2 turnovers in 34 minutes. Yep, best player on the court considering offense, defense, and rebounding. When you consider he hasn't practiced in 4-5 days due to a concussion it was a terrific performance.

I think he could very well be better than Love at this point.
He was +3 in +/-, his net rating was negative (a combination of offensive rating and defensive rating) which shows a flaw in those stats

Okoro+ Nance + Center means pretty good defense and Sexland might be feasible

I did.. I said he was the best player on the court

Weird. Sometimes my brain just skims over stuff. My bad. Probably because of what Whap said, so the dialogue kinda had a negative connotation to it.

Was Nance in there when Rozier hit all those three's? IT tanked everyone who was in +/-

Seems crazy, but Rozier just dared anyone to stop him and the Cavs couldn't

I just think the net rating stat is stupid, Dotson had by far the best offensive net rating on the team because he happened to be on the court when other players were doing very well

For sure it is contextual. That's why I brought it up.

You can't just look at it and figure out what happened. I was shocked Larry was so low because he was such an integral part of the good things that happened.

Can't be surprised they let them back in the game after going up big. Experienced teams do that too

As much as I hate to make this comparison... he played like Draymond. Not talking about personality, of course! Similar role in the offense too, big impact on both ends the way he kept things moving, directed traffic, did the little things - really set the tone for the whole team and allowed the guards to do their thing. Very impressive game.

So I’m not crazy for thinking that at this point in their careers, Nance is better than Kevin Love considering both sides of the court production and fit with our your guys.
I agree. Kevin Love was mostly a star padder in his Minny days. Larry impacts the game far more than Love ever has.

We just so rarely get an aggressive game from Love. Larry has very few bad games because he is helping you on the other side and making good passes if his shot is off or whatever. Always gets some hustle points.

I agree completely. When you look at where they are at physically at this point in their careers as well as where the league is, I think Nance being on the floor gives this Cavs team a better chance to win than Love does.

Do I think that's true for every team? Certainly not, but this one, I don't think it's even particularly close...
