Goodbye Larry Nance Jr.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Love might be better for a few games when he comes back after watching Nance and Wade play! But how long will that last?

The part I don't get is this team right now could be competitive if they had a star on the team. Why is he so reluctant to take that role? Contenders? Of course not, but a team with depth a near allstar in Drummond and some solid young guys should be able to win on any night if they had a star, why doesn't he want to be that guy?

As much as I hate to make this comparison... he played like Draymond. Not talking about personality, of course! Similar role in the offense too, big impact on both ends the way he kept things moving, directed traffic, did the little things - really set the tone for the whole team and allowed the guards to do their thing. Very impressive game.
Ooooh, do I get a podcast now?

They are not exclusive. Nance plays with more energy, which makes him a fan favorite. But Love can deliver at a higher level.. Both seem to struggle to stay on the court lately, but I think some of this has been load management..

I'm with you 100%. I really dislike Bray-mond, but he was exactly who I was thinking about the way Nance plays the game now. And given how the backcourt is shaping up, that's huge.

It’s not his nature to score first. Yes, he has passed up some open shots, but it’s gonna be tough for him to significantly increase his FG attempts without having teammates on the floor that can get him more open looks. Nance has a poor touch inside and can’t even take advantage of mismatches unless he gets deep enough to dunk it. He’s not a natural scorer and he does a good job of keeping the offense fluid. He’s become a reliable spot up shooter which was vital to him being a productive NBA player. We can’t expect him to do much more than what he’s doing right now. He’s doing fine. If he starts trying to score on his own he’s going to look just as bad as Drummond when he tries to do the same thing.

Totally agree with this. It is more important to get some teammates around him who can shoot.

I'm old enough to remember people complaining ad nauseum about Larry and his passing to Clarkson. The fact is, Larry will always look good if the entire team is committed to passing/cutting without the ball, etc.. because he will find you, he will be found, and he will be in the right spots.. and now that the jumper is flowing, love it!!

My only critique is he brings the ball low a little too often when covered.
