Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Update:

11:20am: Mandy Bell of MLB.com relays word from manager Terry Francona, who confirms that Quantrill, Miller and Castro are on the Covid-IL. Zack Meisel of The Athletic provides a quote from Francona, who says “I don’t know that we’re out of the woods yet. I hope we are, but I don’t know that that’s going to be the case. We’ll see.”

From Hoynes

News from the desert:
Guardians medical update from their training facility in Goodyear, Ariz. -- INF-OF Nolan Jones (left ankle, lower back) is facing live pitching and fielding balls on defense. ... RHP James Karinchak (right shoulder) was expected to throw a bullpen session this weekend. He’s playing long toss at 250 feet. ... RHP Cody Morris (right shoulder) is work on increasing strength in his shoulder. ... RHP Carlos Vargas (right elbow) is throwing 25-pitch bullpen sessions as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. ... Catcher Luke Maile (left hamstring) is hitting .583 (7-for-12) on his rehab assignment with Class AAA Columbus. Maile, recovering from a strained left hamstring, could join the G’s on the West Coast when this trip moves to Anaheim, Calif., and Oakland.

For those that didn’t see nor heard ... Chang couldn’t workout during Covid unlike Miller who had no fever ... thus announcers thought he would start rehab assignment soon. Also

At least Lava got a hit before heading to AAA. Now he can catch on a regular basis & be in a better place if injuries force another call up.

Like/actually a shock promotion.. he handled adversity well.. and was able to see what being a ML catcher is and what it takes to stay in the big leagues.. a useful lesson.. more to come..

Karinchak looking bad in rehab :( I hope the magic is not permenantly gone.

He also got injured early in spring and didnt have a spring, so let's see how he does with a month or two down here...

Well may as well update this....

OGonz went on the IL while Karinchak was adding to the 40 man roster and optioned to AAA...

To add Karinchak to the 40 man Myers was DFA'd...

Just to add this on Gose (swelling in elbow) from mlb.com

He had been throwing on flat ground out to 70 feet at about 80 percent intensity, according to manager Terry Francona, but needed to get another injection to help with the discomfort. He'll be shut down for the first week of September and will try to ramp up activities soon after. If the pain continues, the team is ready to get a second opinion to determine what the next step will be.
