It's a shame. Had he and LeBron waited out GS, both would have at least one more ship with the Cavs. Probably two. That Cavs team would've beaten the 2019 Warriors [with KD going down] and Raptors, the 2020 Miami Heat, 2021 Bucks and Suns, and 2022 Celtics and Warriors.

And LeBron/Kyrie would've been one of the GOAT duos with Jordan/Pippen and Kobe/Shaq.

I think the Bubble would've been too.

The only teams that would've given them trouble were the Giannis Bucks and Tatum Celtics, but the Tatum Celtics were always over-matched by LeBron teams. The Cavs beat them in 7 with LeBron's second best partner being Jeff Green.

With how volatile Kyrie is though it would never happen. And that’s not even fully considering ego on top of it.

Kobe and Shaq had ego cut there’s short. Even Pippen still resents Jordan to this day as a clear number two. Probably because of lack of credit and Jordan’s leadership style.

I think he would have left in any event once his contract was up.

But, in that time the Cavs still would have cleaned up.

Butterfly effect though - does Durant leave for Brooklyn if that happens? Maybe he goes to Miami or something. You just never know and that is why you never look back, never reminisce and live in the what if, and focus on the here and now which is Kyrie is on the downside of his career/LeBron is on an extended retirement tour and we have a couple moves to make to elevate beyond Gilbert Arenas Wizards level as a team, but we’ve gained a 25 yo All star starter so we’re trending upward
