He Gave Us Something to Tacko Bout

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean it’s a two-way contract so I don’t understand the bashing here. He can compete against Kabengele for the reserve center spot and like Randolph says he has immense size and is still youngish so why not take a chance on a two way contract?

If it works out, great! If not who cares? Players aren’t exactly lining up to sign 2 way contracts with Cleveland so when you get an opportunity to sign someone that MAYBE has some long term upside then I say — give em a shot.
I don’t care that much actually but dude will be 26 before Christmas and I’m not sure he’s playable. I do think we need a legit backup C and I doubt this guy is it.

We might have more 7 footers than the entire rest of the division LOL.

I think Koby is trying to win a stat nerd bet with his college buddies that he’ll have the largest standard deviation on height in NBA history.

On second thought this isn’t funny. Now we’ll have serious posts on lineups with this dude becoming the missing piece. Some will look at it as a challenge.

Fans at RMF will goes nuts for this guy of course.

No one is bashing the guy. I'm sure he's a cool dude. But it is freaking hilarious that this is the 4th seven footer we've "acquired/signed long term" this offseason and Tacko is 7ft 5.

Allen, Mobley, Lauri and now Tacko.

Well we start two guards who are 6’2” in their best pair of shoes and a SF that’s like 6’4”… what did you except? We had to protect them on the back end! ;)

I remember in the 1970 player expansion draft, the first player the Cavs took was 6'11" Walt Wesley. Then the second pick they took was 6'11" Luther Rackley. When he was asked why so many big guys, Coach Bill Fitch said, "Well if nothing else, we've got a couple of guys that can look Kareem in the eye."
Well the 2021 Cavs will have most of the roster able to look Giannis in the eye.

You are right on the money. They signed a true center as insurance to what Allen provides cheap.

They didn't blow a ton of money on Hartenstein, who may not be in the rotation when everyone is healthy.

And if things click for Taco? You can't teach his insane length as a 10 minute backup center. There's some Boban upside here.

But this is the internet. People already decided to be negative and they can't write more than two sentences these days.
Whatever. I wrote three sentences in my post.

It’s not like he’s 18. He’s turning 26. His best season in college amounted to not quite 10-10 averages. If he’s getting more than a handful of mins once a week, something went very wrong.

Boban - somehow - shoots 77% FTs in his career.

I will not stand for this Boban slander.

He's far more skilled than all of us and I'd wager could drink us under the table too.

I am looking forward to giving him garbage minutes against Boban whenever the Mavs inevitably kick our ass this season…. Those 2-3 mins will be fantastic!
