Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst. It’s the night before the opener and I have no idea whether the Guardians game will appear on my MLB.com streaming feed tomorrow night. Or will the game be televised on the Bally Sports app? I’m local in the Cleveland area yet I don’t know if the arcane local blackout rules will be applied. What a mess for fans.
I logged onto the MLB app and it told me my only blackout is the Guardians. So I'm also not sure if I should sign up for Bally sports or not. Rather not give them a dime if I can help it.It’s the night before the opener and I have no idea whether the Guardians game will appear on my MLB.com feed tomorrow night. The 5 county greater Cleveland area has a population over 2M. The market is pretty good size even if the Guardians don't draw from it. Maybe with this team becoming exciting again attendance will improve if the success is sustained.Guardians have always had a solid TV following at the end of the day. They just aren't a big market so they aren't ever going to be huge money getters...
My confusion is Manfred’s earlier statement that MLB.tv would stream all Guardians games for free, at least to begin the season. Haven’t read any recent clarification or confirmation.I logged onto the MLB app and it told me my only blackout is the Guardians. So I'm also not sure if I should sign up for Bally sports or not. Of course, now that I think about it.... Did the threat by MLB to just move the games to MLB.tv for free spook Bally's into coming to an agreement? And we just did t hear about it? Or is the drop date still to come?

Fubo is just cable by another name, I'm not spending $79 a month +$25 a month for something I don't watch. Still trying to figure out how to stream this... Probably have to cancel my Cavs stream and just sign up for Bally Sports Great Lakes or whatever it is for now. MLB dropping ball... Again.Confirmed:
- MLB.TV expected to launch on Fubo ahead of the opening day of the league’s 2023 season on 30th March
- Fubo customers can add MLB.TV to their existing channel plan for US$24.99 per month, with subscribers able to stream games on demand using Fubo’s Lookback feature
- MLB.TV offers every out of market MLB game live
Context:
The addition of MLB.TV bolsters Fubo’s baseball coverage, having already secured a distribution deal for MLB’s broadcast channel MLB Network, as well as access to MLB Strike Zone, the league’s highlights network.
Earlier this year, Fubo, which rebranded from FuboTV earlier this month, also struck a carriage agreement with Sinclair’s Diamond Sports Group (DSG) for the 19 Bally Sports regional sports networks (RSNs), although the RSNs are currently at risk of losing their MLB rights due to DSG filing for bankruptcy.
MLB.TV showing the dreaded blackout logo for tonight’s Guardians-Mariners game. Reds game also blacked out because of “local” rules even though Cincinnati is more than 230 miles away.
