How to watch the Guardians on TV

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just checked the MLB Network schedule and was shocked to find out that they are televising seven Guardians spring training games in seven days starting Sunday. Some of them are on in the middle of the night and probably none of them are live, but that's no problem as I'm happy to DVR the games and watch them at my convenience. It looks like they're showing the Feb. 26 game against the Padres twice.

From a streaming blog to which I subscribe.
The sad state of baseball streaming: According to the Athletic, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred wants to offer a direct-to-consumer baseball streaming service with local games and no blackouts—in 2025. The league's intentions aren't exactly news, but the expected timing indicates another lost year for many baseball fans who want out of their bloated bundles.
Yes, there are some standalone options, which I've rounded up here, but the situation is a mess especially in Bally Sports markets, with some teams available via Bally Sports+, but others still tied to pricey pay TV packages. That's not changing now that Bally's no longer in danger of losing its broadcast rights to bankruptcy. I'm already used to saying "maybe next year" for my Yankees and Reds; might as well say it for sensible streaming options.
A year being 'lost' is fine if they get it right. With so many teams still tied to Diamond contracts, this does make some sense.

And I don't think Diamond is out of the woods, unless Amazon suddenly wants to pay more to convince the remaining teams to give up streaming rights. I think Amazon just got their foot on the door for the teams that already signed away streaming.

As anyone successfully used a VPN on a FireStick to get around the MLB.TV blackouts, still trying to come up with a way to keep youtube tv and see the Guardians this summer.

As usual, T-Mobile users will get MLB.TV this season as a perk.
  • MLB.TV will be available free to T-Mobile customers from March 26 to April 2.
  • Fans will need the MLB app and T-Mobile Tuesdays app to get the free offer.
  • T-Mobile also offers free subscriptions of Apple TV+ and Hulu, but will not provide a free season of MLS Season Pass this year.

I have taken advantage of this great perk the past three seasons. Only downside is the local blackouts rule.

Just signed up for the T-Mobile / MLB.TV deal again. That's a very good deal.
If I remember right, MiLB.TV was also included last year. So you can keep track of Manzardo, DeLauter, and Brito.

I signed up again, and only takes a few minutes --Just remember to "Redeem" the certificate, as it will not automatically renew if you've had it previously...only a few extra clicks will get you there.

So...I find it remarkable that I cannot watch my local fucking team play.

I have Verizon, I have Youtube TV. What are my options? Bally App won't carry the games, which is weird in it's own right.

This fucking sucks.

Your options are subscribe to streamers Fubo or DirectStream.
Unless you have an out of town zipcode. Then you could watch on MLB.TV.

We need Bens backyard to come back online. I'm in the same boat, granted I don't get time to watch games thanks to children, but at least the thought of being able to watch the game would nice. Tom is great for when I'm driving, or working in the yard or a project, but it doesn't work in the background at home.

If I have family located out of town sign up for MLB.tv for me, will it still black out Gs games if I log it in on my TV here in Cleveland?

I've never tried it. But if your account has an out-of-town zipcode, you should be good to go. Maybe somebody here might have more info on this work around.

So Fubo plays Guardians games cause of the Bally's partnership, correct?
Yes, Fubo is one of the very view streaming services that Bally has an agreement with (the other one is DirectTV streaming).

Otherwise I think your only option is to pair a VPN with MLB.TV, or get a login from someone that has Bally Sports Great Lakes through cable (you can stream Guardians games that way through the Bally App even though they don't stream the Guardians on Bally+). For the VPN route, I've had hit or miss results. Certain VPNs seem to work better than others, along with certain locations within the VPN.
