Crap. Forgot Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime V.S. Netflix V.S. Hulu Plus
Triple threat match.

Pros/Cons....... go

Re: Hulu Plus V.S. Netflix

Amazon Prime:
Pro- $78 for the year.
Pro- renting/buying is optional.

Netflix:
Pro - Great for tv series
Con - never has what you want to see (movie wise)

HuluPlus:
Pro - great for documentaries
Con- their search bar is horrid.

You also forgot HBOGO.

Re: Hulu Plus V.S. Netflix

I thought there was a discussion about HBO a few days ago. You need to have HBO to get HBOGO, correct?

Sarcasm. Yes, you need all that to access HBOGO.

In my opinion, Amazon Prime is the best because I don't like to buy DVD's anymore. So, I can add to my library without having to clutter the area with DVD cases.

Re: Hulu Plus V.S. Netflix

Doesn't Comcast offer hboGo with some of their internet only packs?

I might get an antenna this year and drop DTv. I think a lot of stuff can be bought next day if you just wanna watch it anyway.

I'd get Hulu, Netflix and Prime anyways.

Re: Hulu Plus V.S. Netflix

Netflix has the largest library though, right?

But Amazon is a monster company. I'd imagine they will eventually surpass both Netflix and Hulu.

I like Amazon Prime the best. I had them all, but got rid of HuluPlus a few months ago. I find more on Amazon than I do on Netflix (tv series are the exception to the rule).

Re: Hulu Plus V.S. Netflix

The key to Prime is that the video streaming is really a bonus. The two-day shipping on everything for a whole year is the real kicker there.

I'm leaning towards Prime mainly because of the free shipping like Jack mentioned.

Also Nicky, I bought these Snap and Store boxes from Amazon for like $8 to store my DVDs.. buy a pack of 1000 cd sleeves for like 20 and toss your cases. Idk how to post a pic from my phone or I'd show you my new set up

this is the difference. I use mostly prime for my movies but have netflix as well for shows etc. but the free shipping probably saves me 50-100 dollars a year, plus I get the videos its fantastic

Re: Hulu Plus V.S. Netflix

I'd say a con for HuluPlus is the ads. I know the price would go up without them, but I REALLY hate them. I wouldn't mind it if the ads weren't so long and frequent. Hulu is good if you're a on a budget and don't want to pay out the ass for cable and a dvr. It's a nice way to keep up with current shows in that regard. I still find myself relying on my dvr more because of the ability to just fast forward through commercials in a matter of seconds. I use HuluPlus as a supplement for shows I missed or forgot to record.

We had Netflix, until we made it all the way through Breaking Bad. We just cancelled it, because for us, we'd rather rent a couple movies on-demand that are newer each month, rather than watch old stuff we've already seen.

As an aside, Verizon FIOS is kicking the shit out of Comcast since we switched a couple months ago.

Rumor is that Amazon Prime price is going up $20 (April 17, 2014). This will put it at $99 a year ($79 is the current rate).
I'm not happy about it.

I've had the student rate for Amazon Prime ($39) for the last 5 years. My next renewal is going to be $99. Still worth it as I shop at Amazon a lot and it's still less than $10 a month, but the student price was such a good deal.

Apparently mine renews Aug. 4th. I don't even remember paying $79. The free shipping aspect is definitely worth it.
