Hulu Plus vs Netflix vs Amazon Prime

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jack, I think you recommended Justified to me. I made it through 5 episodes. I haven't been back.
Sorry.

The first season is the weakest of the bunch. Starting in season two they changed it up and started having stories that spanned the entire season rather than all the one-offs they had in season one.

To me, though, the main appeal of Justified is the great characters. Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins crush their respective roles, and there seem to be a handful of "that guy" actors showing up in every episode.

The episodes that I saw seemed to have the same type of story. Although, I did like the one with the dentist. But it seemed to be too much of the same. I kept telling myself I'd go back, because I keep hearing good things about it. Timothy Olyphant is really good-- I like that guy's acting.

Just tell me it's better than The Walking Dead.

I was thinking about getting Netflix....is it really worth the $7.99 a month? I know you get one month free.
yes.

i'd bet a fair amount of money you are spending $8/mo+ on at least a few far less valuable items/services.

Walton Goggins, who plays Boyd, is also excellent in The Shield, which is another top five show of all time for me. I also think it edges Breaking Bad as the show with the best ending, too.
i am convinced the shield has the GOAT series premiere/finale combo and it's not particularly close.

^I have this friend who had someone else's password. Apparently the password is no longer valid. And I was asked if I had HBO. After I replied "yes"-- there was a long pause. I knew in that silence was the wanting to ask me for my login information.

:chuckles:

Someone get Amazon fireTV and get back to me on the details

Thanks.

Might actually open the amazon prime app now, lol

Oh heck yes! If this means what I think it means. I have Amazon Prime, so HBO is going to put its shows on Amazon Prime now!?! That would be epic. The answer to my prayers.

Older shows. You're not going to be able to watch Game of Thrones, for example, without an HBO membership.

At some point if Amazon Fire allows you to straight up subscribe to HBO, no provider needed, I could see buying one. Now this new thing really doesn't do much for me as I subscribe to HBO already

HBO is owned by Time Warner. That won't happen any time soon because it doesn't benefit the parent company at all to remove HBO's cable dependency, at least not right now.

Netflix must be sweating right about now.

It certainly got their attention. But Amazon is basically getting older HBO content.

Amazon has certainly been making some quiet waves(getting Justified, Orphan Black etc) with this being the big splash.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

amazon prime/instant and netflix are just such absurdly good deals. honestly hard to believe they can both be had for like $16.25/mo. with that plus an antenna or aereo (where available) and the option for mlb/nba/nhl ticket packages it's nuts to pay for cable.

also helps explain the $20 price increase haha (still justifiable without hbo, but still).
