Gooden has the talent to be an all star. He just has a low basketball IQ and doesn't do all the things he needs to do as a PF.
Looking at Haslem or a different type of PF is all about chemistry. Gooden's game and mentality really doesn't mesh as well with what the Cavs now need from their PF.
I brought up in another thread and it wasn't mentioned here earlier that Gooden is due for a contract extension next year. That is also probably a factor in the Cavs looking elsewhere for a PF and their willingness to move Gooden. He is likely to be looking for a big long term contract and I don't think the new Cavs regime are prepared to commit to him for the long term.
I do like Gooden's talent and he did have some impressive performances last year. There are just too many off nights and his game isn't as great a fit anymore as would be a Haslem type PF.
