Indians @ Angels

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Benching Asdrubal Cabrera when he's been our 2nd best hitter as of late behind Victor was a stroke of genius. I bet Mike Scioscia saw the lineup card, released a few notches in his belt and put his feet up.

Probably why Vlad was a late scratch too. They knew they had that game last night after looking at our lineup.

Blake never gets a night off...

Only a moron would play Barfield and Blake together.. Especially when you have strikeout kings in Sizemore and Peralta in there as well...

Exactly - hopefully that's the last time we see the vaunted Barfield/Blake/Peralta combo in there together.

Interesting stat from ESPN about Byrd:

The Indians' Paul Byrd is having a solid season, with 14 victories, but he does seem to have a roadblock at 70 pitches. Opponents have hit .268 against him in pitches 1 through 70 in his starts, and thereafter -- after pitch No. 70 -- opponents have hit .366.

Garko goes yard in the 9th to tie it...nice.

Go to bed, Max...

Drubs blew it... Bases loaded, chance to put the winning runs on the board. Took a fat one right up the pipe as CBBI put it.

Any one have our record vs. Boston, New York, Seattle, and the Angels? I am to lazy to look it up, but will give REP to whom ever does.

All I can remeber is being swept by the Yankees, losing 3 out of 4 to Boston, and now this. Losing to teams that we will play in the playoffs is a big concern.

We need to gain some confidence and break even in this series...

Also, where do we stand with our makeup games with Seattle from the blizzard earlier this year?

Thanks.

By my calculations:

Total record against those teams:

7-19.

LA Angels: 3-6 with 2 games left

NY Yankees: 0-6 with 0 games left

Boston: 2-6 with 0 games left

Seattle: 2-1 with 4 games left. I believe the three games we've played them we're all considered make up games.

REP.

That record is damn ugly and a little scary. The Tribe are having a great year but looking how we have faired against the other Division Leaders has really left an empty feeling in my stomach.

Tigers lost today, Tribe has a chance for a 6 game lead. Up 4 on the Angles already.

Thank god one of our teams didn't embarrass us today - nice showing on national TV. The magic number is now down to 14

Just saw this little blurb about Byrd and didn't want to start a new thread... interesting stuff:

Indians Report

September 8, 2007 - Associated Press

RHP Paul Byrd is writing what he calls a ``spiritual journal'' that he is going to have published in book form and hopes to have on the market by spring training. It's called ``The Free Byrd Project,'' a candid and graphic look at how he has managed to remain true to his faith despite the pitfalls associated with a ballplayer's daily lifestyle. ``It's not politically correct. It's not for a 10-year-old. It's not a bubble gum-feel good book. It's only for a certain audience,'' Byrd said. ``It's more of a personal account of things I've struggled with _ conversations I've had with Atheist ballplayers, coming clean with some issues I've had, like struggling with pornography on road trips when you're missing your wife _ all those things you encounter because of this lifestyle. So it's not a book that shows me as having it all together. But it's not going to point fingers or sell anybody out. If anything, it's going to just be me selling myself out a little bit with some of my struggles.''
