Indians playoff chances...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And, if you take out Sowers stats, 12 starts, where he only went half of his games over 6 innings, we end up with 91 of 104.

Our starters rule.

And then if you take out the other 14 for no good reason then we end up with 104/104!!!

Borowski starts out with a walk. He's about to fvck it up again.

EDIT:

And now he's given it up. I just don't know how this guy is still on a major league roster. He simply CANNOT hold a one run lead. It's not even that he's a good closer...he's really not. A good closer can hold any lead...he allows a run nearly half the time probably? And whether he closes or not..there's ALWAYS baserunners.

Think about how poorly people would think of our starters if they couldn't get through the first inning without giving up a run nearly all the time. Meanwhile...its ONE INNING.

But he got the win.....:chuckles:

Jigo, the good news is that after throwing so many pitches last night and closing three days in a row chances are very slim that he'll make an appearance tonight. The Sox will probably see Raffy B tonight if it's close in the 9th.

Russell "the muscle" on the move again...:

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have acquired infielder/outfielder Russell Branyan from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for a player-to-be-named later.
The left-handed swinging Branyan, 31, has compiled a lifetime mark of .229 with 120 home runs and 298 RBI in 695 games with Cleveland, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Tampa Bay, San Diego and Philadelphia. He enjoyed a 20-homer season for the Indians in 2001 and combined for a career-high 24 homers with the Indians and Reds in 2002.

Branyan was batting a combined .198 with 9 home runs and 24 RBI with the Phillies and Padres in 2007. He was designated for assignment by the Phillies this past Monday. Branyan was acquired by Philadelphia on Aug. 9 from Cleveland after the Indians had signed him as a free agent on Aug. 7 following his release by the Padres on July 28. He played just one game for Cleveland's Triple-A Buffalo club before shipping off to Philadelphia.

Branyan hit a pair of homers for Phillies earlier this month, including a two-run pinch homer on Aug. 14 at Washington to win that game 3-2. He hit a pair of homers against the Cardinals on May 11 at PETCO Park while playing for the Padres.

Branyan has played third base, first base and outfield during his career and he started at third for the Padres last season during all four games of their Division Series with the Cardinals. He owns several tape-measure homers including the longest homers ever (480 ft) at Milwaukee's Miller Park and San Diego's PETCO Park (453 ft.). He led the Reds with six September homers in 2002.

The 6-3, 195-pound Branyan will wear uniform #33 and is eligible to play tonight.

...the Cards must be desperate.

What a comeback by the Tribe tonight!!! They still have to close it out but that six run inning was pretty impressive huh?

Yeah I dont watch baseball at all really, but I turned it on in the 7th and have been impressed for once. Great inning.

It was quite funny. I has the White Sox commentators for my call down here. They were so pissed.

That was quite impressive. This game looked to be over. Maybe someone will finally say something positive about Casey Blake.

After that grounder that hit the lip of the infield grass and bounced over the shortstop's head, I'll believe anything I see this season. Maybe this is our year. Just a great comeback tonight.

Highlights of that great 8th inning:

Cleveland 8 White Sox 5

Detroit 4 Oakland 5

+5.5 games :spin:

They are the WORST. I'm not sure if you've come by opportunities to hear them prior to this but they are known as the worst homers in the game.

Thank God you didn't have any opportunities to hear their HR calls.

One of the best games Ive ever been to. That was magical... haha. I had a Sox fan sitting in front of me and when Garko's hit magically changed directions he turned around and gave me and my girlfriend the WTF? look. My girlfriend just started flapping her arms Angels in the Outfield style. It was damn funny. When Lofton stepped out of the dugout to be the pinch hitter, you could have sworn Jesus himself stepped on to the field. The crowd still loves Kenny more than any other player on the team, and I dont think its even close. Great great game to be at.

Chief's damn videos scare the hell out of me... For some reason they automatically load up into Quicktime without warning, and it's damn loud....:chuckles:
