I don’t love saying this, but ultimately, it doesn’t seem like we missed Okoro at all last night. Lamar did a good job on George down the stretch, and for much of the game, Lauri and Mobley did, too. And on smaller guys, Sexton had his best defensive game this year.
Hard to make a strong argument against your point but I do believe that overall, surprisingly, the offense would have flowed a little better, especially in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, with Okoro than the extended Cedi and Stevens minutes.

That said, it's of course encouraging that we were able to play that level of defense while missing one of our better defenders.

But again, it all worked out last night so kudos for everyone for the victory

I think Stevens is a solid defender, better rebounder and very comfortable with a physical game..

He is also three years older than Okoro.. I think in that time we will see more skills developed with Isaac.. but similar defense value..

I think Okoro was about to take off until he got hurt. He was playing really well.
I thought so too, though I don't think there are more than 4-8 shots a game for him as the team currently runs it's offense.

Okoro is more of a G/F to Stevens F. Isaac looks really good v G's and adequate v SF's, Stevens looks solid vs SF's and adequate v PF's.
I like both guys.
Stevens kind of is who he is, in my mind. He doesn't make the quickest decisions, and he defaults to trying to go into the post and work on getting his shot off, which normally isn't going to be the best option of the 5, but I can appreciate him taking it to a defender every now and then.
Isaac makes quick decisions with the ball, probably makes the correct basketball play to a fault (IE: sometimes you just have to attack the defender like Stevens to keep 'em honest/on their toes). I don't think we are anywhere close to seeing what Okoro will end up being as an NBA player. But maybe that's just me.

I agree with you..

But if you drink the kool-aid that okoro will never be a reliable shooter, and will never gave the handles to create his own shot, then you would of course prefer Stevens, who can be described the same way, but who is two inches taller and quite a bit stronger inside..

I personally think Okoro developes a shot, and developed decent although not elite handles.. So I would rather have Isaac.. As it happens, for now, I can have both..

I don't know, I watched Stevens last night and while you can put him on taller players, my eye test said he's not as good defensively or as good for the offense as a whole as Okoro.

Been on vacation. What is the Okoro injury? And the others?

You can tell the Cavs have really missed Okoro last few games, or at least someone of Okoro’s capabilities… Without him, the Cavs don’t really have someone to throw on a hot player to help slow them down…

JB tried Stevens during the Laker game and has tried Rubio and Sexton on opposing guards with mixed success..

Okoro may not have the length to guard big wings but his defensive presence is missed on the perimeter where he can mix and match with a lot of different offensive threats…

I think he would have started tonight.

Be honest they were blessed he was out tonight.

If he wasn't then he starts and Wade eats up the rest of the minutes.

Now that's not Okoro's fault, that's the coach.

But Windler getting to play was huge.

I think he was starting to get real good before he got hurt. I think he was ould have given Simon and Powell trouble as they wouldn't score as much.
