Jacoby Brissett: Class Act

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The gaffes by our defensive backfield are of greater concern to me than Jacoby.
Agreed.

Stefanski made it a little bit more difficult for him, not to mention Cooper looking lost. Need to give him that Keenum playbook and give him constant layups to build confidence.

I don't expect anything special. Serviceable, barely, and it's all the Browns truly need.

He was very bad (to watch), but I can see how dangerous this team will be with competent QB play.

Njoku didnt get a target (took a sack on the one i remembered)...Bell didnt get a target...Cooper was under- and overthrown on almost all his targets...
Njoku didn't get a target, but he was absolutely mauling people in the run game from what I saw. Seemed like he was sealing the edge on just about all of the big runs to his side of the field.

1 catch for 7 yards on 1 target

Oh he ABSOLUTELY played well, i just like my skill positions to get touches...kinda like rewarding your big men in basketball for running the floor/rebounding/blocking shots. Njoku has a big deal, so I'm less concerned about him wanting out, but i still want him utilized more.

This guy sucks, but I am confident he won't throw the team out of games. Thought he also did a good job managing the pre-snap movement. Looks very comfortable in the system.

He's a great QB sneak guy :chuckle:

He was as good, if not better than his counterpart today.

Week 12 can't come soon enough for this position.

He isn’t good. But I also think they looked like a team that didn’t get much run in the preseason. Just so many fixable things that were off chemistry wise. Made throws he had too, and didn’t make the ones he couldn’t.

There’s only a handful of teams in the league that we can beat with that type of QB play.

I’m surprised you guys are going so easy on him…that was an absolutely atrocious game from Brissett. He needs to be better than that, and I expect him to do so.

He was ass. He had a few 3rd down clutch passes but that was it. His pre-snap had me pulling my hair out. I cant count how many times he almost had a delay of game. I rather risk it all with Dobbs. Brissett has no touch on his passes at all. He almost cost of this game if it wasn't for York.

I'm so happy with the first game win but im not happy with him at all.

When Amari had his guy beat--when the corner fell down--and Brissett floated a soft lob right into the safety instead of hitting his wide open, uncovered first read?

That's not an acceptable play from a third stringer in the NFL, let alone your starting QB.

I still don't think we go 11 games without seeing Kellen Mond on the field.

Jacoby is lucky the Seahawks are tanking and starting Geno Smith. That's the only reason he isn't the worst starting QB in the league.... and that's a league with Mitch Trubisky and Marcus Mariota starting.

Not saying I disagree because I'm not sure I have an actual opinion on the matter when it comes to talent of the two. But what makes you think Mond over Dobbs?

Personally I would love to see Dobbs start a game or two. My daughter has alopecia and is completely bald like Dobbs, so I'd love for her to see a starting NFL QB "like her"

I'm biased.

I liked Mond when scouting QB's coming out in 2021. I had him as the QB6 in that class, ahead of Kyle Trask.

Mond succeeds in wide-open, spread offenses and has really good running ability--very much like the offense we're trying to set up for Watson's return.

I think everyone wants Dobbs to be good. It'd be a cool story if it happened. The representation for your daughter would be awesome.

I just don't think it's going to happen.

I wouldn't bet on Mond either for what it's worth. Odds are they both suck shit.

Another game like this from Brissett and I wouldn’t mind trying somebody else. He’s a warm body. Like someone said if he is providing QB30 or QB31 level play do you really have anything to lose?

He sucks, but the more valuable thing we got from him today was no turnovers. He missed some big plays, but got the team into position to kick a game winning field goal when it mattered.

He’s not good enough to win us games, but he’s generally good enough to not lose games when you factor in our run game.

Minus two horribly blown coverages by the defense and we win that game by double digits. Any game we win with Brisset is going to be ugly and will have to rely on the defense playing well. Mond or Dobbs might make some more exciting plays, but turnovers will be harder to deal with.

All that being said, if Brisset starts turning the ball over, they’ll have to make a change because he’s just not good enough to overcome the mistakes.
