Out for all of training camp and preseason now, and not clear he'll be available for the regular season opener

#Cavs Jarrett Allen expected to be sidelined for the duration of training camp and preseason, with his status for the regular season opener unclear “It’s just one of those things over time. It was something that had been building.”

Multiple pundits have mentioned hammer screens where there is dribble handoff from Allen or Mobley to guard or SF into the corner. Niang should be able to do that too It's how Miami used Bam in the corner to create space.

Cavs really need to do this as Allen was largely ineffective on offense when he was not in the dunker's spot, which is where they moved Mobley last year
They should be doing it against drop-coverage centers like Robinson and Lopez especially if Garland's resting and Mitchell is the primary ball handler, but Allen should be on the block against smaller centers.

If the Cavs are going to take that next step offensively, they're going to have to be versatile enough to change how they play based on what the other team is giving up. That's something I've seen very little of over the last two seasons unless Garland or Rubio figured it out on the floor. In terms of a coaching staff anticipating their opponent's strengths and weaknesses, and preparing the team in advance, I didn’t see that.

This dude needs to go I like him but he’s not the answer made of glass
You should look at the games and minutes played by Mitchell Robinson and R. Williams before you decide that Allen is too injury prone to retain. Heck, even Embiid has had issues staying on the court over the course of his career. If you want a true 7 footer at center, odds are you've got to deal with them being unavailable part of the season.

But Jeeeeeeeesus……the season hasn’t even started yet!!!!!!

You're gonna scare people about Mobley by saying that. Knocking on all the wood, but thankfully Mobley has been pretty healthy for his career so far.

It feels like Jarrett is absent in important games due to injury or just suck lol again I like him but Jesus man

I'd call Portland up about Williams and see if he could be had on the cheap to bring off the bench.

fvvs bone bruise in his knee esentially ruined his 2022 year...happened right before the all-star break and he never fully recovered. be thankful that this happened pre-season and not in april.

the problem is not jarret allen its stud sg/sf caris levert who is going to be made to play the majority of his minutes at the three with his suspect ankle.

you lose 30 minute levert to a high ankle sprain or bone bruise in april.....season over....thats why you dont go into year two of the mitchell trade with three starting-caliber 2s and zero starter 3s.

if it werent for caris levert....the cavs arguabaly get swept against the knicks...

wtf?....second round appearance will be a successful season?

after you give up all those picks for three-year rental mitchell?...."getting past" the first round?

what was the purpose of the fukn mitchell trade?...a second round appearance?....seriously?....and this is the final product?....

that is just sad coming from the self-proclaimed "leader of the team."
