Job Searching tips

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Thought I would share something that i found amusing. Even though I have an interview on Monday I've still been sending out applications. Well one of the places I applied to made me write a poem about my previous job. I did it in limerick form. :chuckles:

Good luck on your interview bro. I have on tomorrow for a front deks / recptionist gig at this talent modeling school in fairlawn and I have another one on Monday doing some type of office work for a real estate company.

Good luck to you too man. Mine is with a public relations firm in Westlake, I would be an account coordinator there. I've already met with them and it went really well, this is the follow up interview where we are going to discuss things like salary and benefits.

What should I wear for my interview? I don't have a suit. So maybe something like kakis and a nice longsleave dress shirt?

Get yourself some dark slacks, dress shoes, a long sleeve collared shirt and tie. Get as close as you can to a suit without buying it if you can't afford it. If you're going to work the front desk at a modeling agency, they'll probably expect you to look sharp and looking more casual could be a big turnoff to the wrong person.

This might be a late reply, but if your are still looking for a job, i could recommend this site I've come across
https://joblang.com/ as they seem to have a huge amount of quality jobs from all over.

The number 1 advice I can give from experience is never dress in a furry suite for the job interview. It just doesn't go well from there.

What if it’s a porn job?

What if it’s a porn job?

Only if its specifically for fury fantasy porn.

And if that's the case, be pro active and cut a glory hole in the suite for your cock, the producer will love that.

Job searching is so arduous. It’s a vicious cycle when you can’t stand your job but get discouraged when you kick a search and get no bites.

This is where I’m at now

I know from my own experience that it can be a daunting and confusing world to trying to get a job, and sometimes you can feel like there is no hope. I pesonally tried all possible freelance sites anf have some good experience with Upwork and Fiverr.

Job search does suck. Well chronicled in my thread from a couple months ago with my current struggles. Thankfully I make a lot more than the OP did back in 2011 and have a secure job/benefits. It just blows.

I need to start searching. I'm working a night shift manufacturing job, sanitation department. It's 6 hour shifts so we basically don't get days off. Every other weekend we work 8-10 hour shifts. We are supposed to get one day off every 2 weeks, but it's going to be 21 days between my days off coming up. And we only get one, on a random week day, with late notice. So it doesn't give much time to plan anything.

I've worked there a year and pretty much passed my breaking point awhile ago. But I'm trying to hold on and find another job before I quit. I do have a bachelor's degree in business actually and I'm smart and got good grades. I just don't have the desire to work the corporate ladder.

I'm sure there is a business out there I would fit well with, I just wouldn't know it. I probably should have got my degree in accounting instead of management. Right now, I basically want something with consistent days off. My only ideas are like banking or an office job where I'm doing tasks or data entry or something.

A dream scenario is basically having a job that pays enough to live yet I get a lot of free time. Like if I could work remotely or something too but that seems hard to get. I'd like my own business some day, probably something online, I just don't know what yet. So I just need a find a job that gives me more free time to actually think about it. I theoretically have the time now, but sleeping during the day and many other things aren't too conducive to productivity and mental health.

Sounds bad bro. Like worse than my job. I’d get out asap. I’m sure you can find something.

Going back for my MBA. Would actually like to get into business.

The pay is okay at least. But I'd rather take a pay cut and have my sanity and actually maybe interact with people. I didn't have much of a social life to begin with but now it doesn't exist. Sadly, I'm one of the longest tenured there after just a year. People quit/get fired so much that they run through groups of new hires every week or two. Which can make work stressful having new people so much who don't know what to do. The training is almost non existent and they expect the workers to do it. Borderline new people are training new people sometimes.

I hope I can find something. The market where I'm at isn't great. Population is 45k but I like it here enough to stay. Basically I'd like to find a job with more normal hours and days off. And then start working on building an online business or finding self sufficient ways for revenue to the point where I can control my own schedule.

What kind of business are you interested in?

I’m concentrating in analytics, open to any business that allows me the opportunity to work in that field, which is almost anywhere these days, really. Feel like there should be plenty of doors open for me but it’s gonna take time.

For now, I’m just looking for a job that doesnt make
me hate my fucking life and pays just enough. I feel you on everything you’re saying. A shit job will just make you miserable. Been me for the past year. Took until last month for me to snap out of it and start making a plan.
