Hate to say it but mentioned this before last week, we looked great playing crap teams and playing teams resting stars, but as soon as we play teams more talented or as talented we get beaten. ——> coaching

This is nuts. Talent matters far more than coaching in the NBA. Pops is a HoF coach but even he can’t win with the current Spurs roster.

If we take your post seriously (for a moment only) then JBB winning the first round series against a lower seed but then losing to Boston or Milwaukee would be evidence he’s a bad coach and not because those teams are more experienced or have more talent.

JBB did coach the team to two wins against Boston.

16 threes...............................................

I just can't stand him. Oh I have been so so quiet... but God damn, you guys have no idea how good this team can become with a good coach it seems. It's too bad.

Coach keeps them motivated and prepared.

Love him…

I'm generally not someone who goes after coaches, but I'm getting a bit down on the guy. I'm thinking he perhaps has a bit too much of the Paul Silas "my way or the highway" gene in him. Guys either being his favorites or in the doghouse, playing scared, etc..

We had a number of players on this team who were contributing at a good level, and I'm specifically thinking of bench guys like Osman, Wade, and even Love. They were all flawed players in one way or the other, but then, that's why they were bench guys. But it was a pretty enthusiastic, fun group that actually won some games for us. And now, Rubio has been added to it, so that should just be a plus.

Instead, our bench has been in free-fall for a couple of months. They seem to have no confidence either as individuals or as a group, and seem to play scared. Love's been replaced by Danny Green, who has done nothing.

Just saying that if we're going to give JBB credit for the starters playing hard and having a good attitude, then the collapse of the bench is on him also.

Yeah I suppose in a lot of ways, you just need your head coach to be a good personality manager. And in that front it does appear JBB is struggling right now. It's a little hard to tell how the players feel about him right now. I know they seemed to really like him before, maybe they still do, but perhaps there is a kink in the armor. I agree it does seem the doghouse thing is real, or maybe he's just really bad an managing game time stuff.
Saying all that, I'm not bummed going 2 and 1 against Boston, it's unfortunate the loss is last night, but ultimately that is a very good thing.
