Johnny Manziel: Swan Won't Return His Calls

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Johnny Manziel

I can't imagine any scenario where three quarterbacks are in the top four picks.

With Clowney and Greg Robinson seemingly locks.

Re: Johnny Manziel

Walter Football now has the Browns drafting Sammy Watkins at #4... and Johnny Football at #26:

BOOM. Johnny Manziel has been in the top 5-8 of almost every single mock draft published on the Internet, but it wouldn't surprise me if he fell on Draft Day. It's happened to other quarterbacks before, and it could certainly happen to Manziel, as there are concerns about many things, including his party lifestyle, the manner in which he plays, his mechanics and his durability (size).

If we had heard this from one team, I might just consider it smoke, but multiple teams selecting early have issues with Manziel. Vikings' head coach Mike Zimmer also expressed his concerns with Manziel, so that's another team in the top 10 that won't pick him.

This is why I could see Manziel take a tumble into the 20s (it's no coincidence that the Patriots brought him in for a visit). If that occurs, perhaps the Browns will scoop him up at No. 26, or maybe one of the teams in the early portion of Round 2 will trade up for him.

Re: Johnny Manziel

Being from Houston and a Texans fan, I would gladly trade that pick to the Browns. I have been hearing he may drop to the late first round as well. Not saying I don't want him on my team I just don't want him #1 over all in this draft.

For the people that want to show their Aggie pride, love of Johnny Football, and questionable decision-making all in a single hair cut.

Re: Johnny Manziel

Not sure polska is going to be too happy you're posting pictures of him on here.

Re: Johnny Manziel

Do you think that Minnesota would go for the reaching for a QB thing again after Ponder? I mean, it's the same front office, but I do wonder if they'll walk that line again..

Technically not the same front office. When Ponder was taken we had something in place called the Triangle of Authority. The owners, head coach, and GM all had equal say on who they wanted to take. Frazier and the owners wanted Ponder, Spielman did not. Coaching Ponder at the Senior Bowl played into that just a little bit.

The whole Josh Freeman fiasco leads me to believe they're not sold on Ponder. I don't agree with them reaching for Carr there, but I think they'll take him there because their options in the second round will be so much worse.

Definitely not sold on Ponder, why do you think we re-signed Cassell after he opted out of his contract. I think they've moved on, especially Spielman since he never wanted Ponder in the first place. Only way the Vikings take a QB in the 1st is if they trade up for Bridgewater or Bortles, if one of them falls to them at 8, or if they trade back to the 20s and take Carr (been reported they want to add ~4 or 5 picks, so a trade down seems to be highly likely if no one falls). But that's only if they go QB in the 1st. Judging by what I am hearing they will address the defense in the 1st and take a QB in the 2nd or 3rd (very high on Mettenberger apparently).

Re: Johnny Manziel

MOAR JOHNNY!:chuckles:

Re: Johnny Manziel

I'd take Manziel at 26 if I knew we could get a good WR without 2nd rounder. Although that mock had us taking Watkins at 4, so I suppose the 2nd rounder would be dedicated to another position.

Remember the days of Massaquoi and Robiskie in the 2nd round?

Re: Johnny Manziel

If I thought Manziel could reach his Jeff Garcia-like ceiling, I think it would make sense in the second round.

But I don't.

Re: Johnny Manziel

I don't care where we take Johnny, I just want Johnny. take him first overall or take him 26th, whatever. Just get him.

Re: Johnny Manziel

Jeff Garcia didn't even play in the NFL until he was 29 lmfao..

Manziel should probably take a similar path, honestly.

The CFL is more suited to his...uhm....style.
